Cellcosmet introduces “Gen 2.0” in reformulated range of cellular renewal postbiotics, peptides and amino acids
18 Aug 2023 --- Luxury Swiss skin care brand specializing in cosmetic science, Cellcosmet, has expanded its presence to the US with the establishment of the Cellap Laboratory Americas.
The brand’s products – including face creams and makeup – are based on its Cellap Cellular Concept, which is an approach to skin care that focuses on the skin’s cellular renewal process. The company blends ingredients that boost this outcome, such as peptides, amino acids, postbiotics, plant extracts and oils.
In line with its latest US expansion, Cellcosmet has optimized the formulations of its cellular skincare lines for men and women. The new formulations contain the next generation (“Gen 2.0”) of its signature ingredient, CytoPep Cellular Extracts, as well as a new Postbiotics Complex.
The reformulation is said to preserve the balance and the diversity of the cutaneous microbiota.

CytoPep Cellular Extracts are a blend of peptides and amino acids that are stabilized using the patented CellControl method – involving maintaining a specific temperature and pH balance for stability – developed by Cellap Laboratoire. These extracts are designed to revitalize the skin, improve its elasticity and help it retain moisture.
“While DNA is the code of life, proteins and peptides are the mechanism of life. Infused with several peptides and proteins and rich in collagen and other skin structural proteins, CytoPep Cellular Extracts are the lifeblood behind the health and rejuvenation of the skin,” explains Dr. Jérémie Soeur, chief science officer.
“CytoPep Cellular Extracts aid in stimulating energetic metabolism and boosting cellular energy within skin’s cells, specifically the mitochondria, to visibly enhance skin health through natural skin-cell renewal and strengthen skin barrier function,” he details.
Marine-sourced postbiotics and functional oils
The new Postbiotics Complex is claimed to support a “multitude of beneficial actions while preserving the skin’s microbiome.” The formula is composed of three marine-origin ferments which, when added to the cellular skincare formula, help to preserve and strengthen the quality of the skin.
The first ferment, composed of complex molecules, acts like a protective film, shields skin from blue light, improves elasticity and maintains skin's barrier function.
The other two ferments are effective in visibly lifting and firming skin, revealing the complexion’s true radiance. They also help skin defend itself against certain environmental stressors.
Aside from these, two other “rigorously selected” ingredients, the OleoComplex and the HydraProtect Film Complex, are contained in the new Cellcosmet Gen 2.0 formulations. These additions help skin maintain optimal moisture for skin barrier function that effectively protects the face from the harsh factors of daily life, including pollution and stress.
OleoComplex, in particular, is a blend of vegetable oils – including argan, jojoba, macadamia and rosehip – that are designed to hydrate and protect the skin. The oils in OleoComplex are selected for their emollient, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. They help to lock in moisture, protect the skin from environmental damage and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Cellcosmet’s HydraProtect Film Complex is a blend of ingredients that are designed to form a protective film on the skin. This film helps to lock in moisture, protect the skin from environmental damage and prevent the skin from drying out. Its key ingredients include hyaluronic acid, ceramides and panthenol.
“We aim to expand our presence in the luxury skincare market across e-commerce, high-end spas, hotels, clinics and high-end department stores,” comments Tancrède Amacker, CEO of Cellcosmet.
As part of this new era, Cellcosmet is also providing a new sensory experience by improving the texture and fragrance of its cellular skin creams. The non-greasy, fast-penetrating formulas are silky to the touch and leave skin feeling incredibly soft. The citrus fragrance is enhanced with floral and musky notes, for a light, fresh, elegant scent on the skin.
