Weekly Roundup: Inter Parfums joins forces with French fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro

Inter Parfums’ newly created subsidiary Interparfums Italia has entered into a 10-year exclusive global licensing agreement with Emanuel Ungaro to create, develop, and distribute fragrance-related products under the Emanuel Ungaro brand. The International Class 3 agreement, which includes a five-year renewal option, also encompasses home fragrance, skin care, cosmetics and travel amenities and goes into effect on January 1, 2022.
Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, has completed its acquisition of Soliton, Inc. The addition of Soliton and its technology complements Allergan Aesthetics’ portfolio of non-invasive body contouring treatments will now include a proven treatment for the appearance of cellulite.
The Resonic device initially received US Food and Drug Administration clearance for the short-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite, and that clearance has now been expanded to long-term improvement up to one year.
In recent clinical data submitted to the FDA, Resonic demonstrated significant improvement in the appearance of cellulite, and 97.6% of participants (n=67) found there was a good improvement in the appearance of cellulite at 52-weeks post-treatment.
Environment and sustainability
IFF has announced its environmental, social and governance (ESG) roadmap for the combined company. The 2030 ‘Do More Good Plan’ includes targets that are aligned with IFF’s purpose of applying science and creativity for a better world. “With our Do More Good Plan, we are taking another bold step in our aspirations to do more for people, planet and product,” says Andreas Fibig, IFF CEO. The plan comprises four key areas: environmental, social, governance and sustainable solutions.
Shiseido has been accredited under the Science Based Targets initiative for its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Shiseido established Reducing Our Environmental Footprint, Developing Sustainable Products, and Promoting Sustainable and Responsible Procurement as the three strategic actions for solving environmental issues. The company is promoting efforts to reduce its environmental footprint and to use sustainable resources with the various stakeholders throughout the entire value chain.
Shiseido reviewed and redesigned the manufacturing process at both new and existing factories. It also promotes actions to reduce CO2 emissions by introducing high-efficiency equipment, switching to energy sources with a lower environmental impact, and using renewable energy.
L’Oréal has been recognized by S&P for its sustainability performance, receiving a strong Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) rating evaluation of 85 out of 100 points, one of the highest globally. The award consists of a sustainability performance score of 77 out of 100, combined with a strong preparedness score (+8).
