At the upcoming PCHi (Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients) tradeshow in Hangzhou, China (March 18–20), Evonik will showcase its portfolio featuring targeted active and functional ingredients for skin care, sun care, color cosmetics, and hair care. It will also reveal specialized delivery systems and solutions for household cleaning.
Evonik will present its latest biotechnological solutions for skin and household care around its theme: “The Soul and Science of Beauty.”
The specialty chemicals company’s solutions include Sphinox Vively ceramide for skin barrier support, the X50 NeoSyno-Col anti-aging cream designed to reduce signs of aging. Additionally, it will present a biosurfactant portfolio featuring Rheance One and Sophance LA-A, aimed at gentle cleansing and high biodegradability.
Alix Chen, general manager of Evonik’s Care Solutions in the Greater China region, says: “At our booth, customers will discover our refreshed visual world along with the latest technological breakthroughs, and experience our strong commitment to the local industry.”
Biodegradable solutions
Evonik will also showcase the Rewoferm series for household cleaners and detergents at PCHi. The company says the biodegradable glycolipids can deliver effective foaming and cleaning performance.
Based on its naturally derived polyglyceryl ester platform, Evonik will also present its Symbio Pure G3E1 MB emulsifier and Symbio Pure G3C2 MB solubilizer, which aim to provide gentle, natural, and sensitive-skin-friendly options for makeup removers.
Some solutions are tailored for the Chinese market.
The company adds: “Our Symbio Muls Aquasoft MB is sourced from rice bran and is specially designed for the unique characteristics of Chinese skin, offering an optimal balance of watery-light sensory, naturalness, and performance.”
Expanding into the Chinese market
Evonik is expanding its range of Chinese-manufactured products, which will also be presented at the show. It recently announced the Asia Beauty Science and Innovation Center in Shanghai, China, scheduled to open this year.
Chen says: “As a holistic, sustainable solutions provider in the market, we aim to be deeply rooted in the region and empower brands to confidently create eco-friendly products that enhance consumer health and well-being.”
The facility aims to promote the development of cosmetic solutions and enable customized services for consumers in China and Asia.
Last year, Evonik divested its betaines business in Bekasi, Indonesia, as the company continues to adjust its portfolio toward sustainable specialty chemicals.
It also paused all mergers and acquisition activities until 2027 as part of its restructuring strategy. Reportedly, it wants to focus on current resources, biobased solutions, and energy transitions to generate a better circular economy.
