GetHarley receives US$52M to scale personalized dermatological services worldwide
13 Jun 2023 --- GetHarley has raised US$52 million in funding to open personalized skin care services worldwide. The company partners with renowned clinicians, offering high-quality care and products to those seeking medical-grade skin care routines.
“The skin care industry is overflowing with false claims, celebrity marketing and thousands upon thousands of choices about how to care for your skin,” says Charmaine Chow, CEO and founder at GetHarley. “You end up wasting huge amounts of time, money and energy trying to figure out what works for you. I should know – I looked everywhere for solutions for my challenging skin.”
“While consumers are being pulled in multiple directions, clinicians are time-poor and overstretched and you can never quite get hold of them. GetHarley solves all this, giving experts a one-stop platform and helping global consumers access the best advice in a crowded marketplace.”
International venture capital firm Index Ventures, the backers of Farfetch, Figma and Glossier, led the funding round.
Meaningful purchases
GetHarley, the global online gateway, aims to overcome the confusion of choice in the skin care industry, highlighting that three new skin care products are launched every hour. This results in a “fragmented marketplace” where consumers are overwhelmed and lack a quality filter for professional advice.GetHarley provides a seamless experience to overwhelmed consumers, matched to specialized clinicians.

“GetHarley is a champion and partner for both the clinics and the consumer,” says Danny Rimer, board member and partner of Index Ventures.
“People are now incredibly savvy about what they’re buying – especially at a time of economic scarcity when they want their money to be channeled into meaningful purchases. They rightly want brands and experiences that are transparent, authentic and can deliver a tailored service.”
The company claims to “cut through the noise” in the crowded skin care market to pair consumers with skin care professionals.
Personalized services
Offering personalized product recommendations, GetHarley also offers virtual skin consultations and a 24/7 patient concierge service. This is especially beneficial for those who do not have access or cannot travel to clinicians.
The company has a global team of 70, which is expected to double in the next year with the help of its funding. GetHarley has notably seen triple-digit annual growth since its launch and is used by over 100,000 patients.
“Demand for clinical and personalized skin care solutions has boomed in recent years, with the US$60 billion global market for medical grade products and aesthetic treatments continuing to grow at 13% year-on-year,” shares the company.
“Yet the mainstream consultancy model can be clunky and burdensome for clinicians too: instead of focusing on patient care, they must do administrative work, source and manage product inventory and coordinate patient follow-ups.”
Instead, GetHarley provides a seamless experience to overwhelmed consumers, matched to specialized clinicians.
