Oscars 2023: Personal care and beauty brands featured in US$100K+ gift bag
14 Mar 2023 --- At the 95th Academy Awards yesterday, winning actors and directors bagged the Oscar award along with an “Everyone Wins” Nominee Gift Bag produced by LA-based Distinctive Assets. The gift bag features personal care and beauty products, holiday getaways, snack treats, wellness products and pieces of Australian land plots for conservation.
Top acting and directing nominees and winners, including Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Cate Blanchett, Ana de Armas, Michelle Williams, Michelle Yeoh, Judd Hirsch, Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Todd Field and Steven Spielberg, were given this six-figure goodie bag.
“These nominees are uniquely positioned to help brands participate immeasurably by simply wearing, using and talking about these products. Marketing and advertising can and must co-exist with the ever-present reporting of bad news globally,” says Lash Fary, founder at Distinctive Assets.
“This isn’t frivolity; it is basic economics.”
What’s the beauty in the bag?
The goodie bag is expected to “pamper, delight, surprise and inspire,” according to Distinctive Assets. The entire line of Miage ultra-luxury transformative skincare products and ēcōMD clean conscious Vegan Retinol were skincare gifts.
“Lucky nominees” also received Ariadne Athens Skin Wellness bath ritual sets, Art Lipo body sculpting, Bauman Medical comprehensive hair restoration services and hair wellness products and Benigna Parfums Royal Essence Collection.
Other products include Blush Silks beauty pillowcases, Dax Hair Care grooming products, facial rejuvenation procedures from Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich, EpicLight Beauty Never Settle Radiant Cheek + Lip Blush and Oxygenetix foundation + micro needling medi-spa services.
Shinery Radiance Wash all-in-one hand soap + jewelry cleaner, Sumner Street Shea vegan body butters, Sweetums flavored intimate wipes, The Beauty Tea Company limited edition all-natural tea collection, ReFa Heart Brush and ReFa Fine Bubbles beauty shower head also made it into the bag.
Connecting small brands
Brendan Fraser and Michelle Yeoh were recognized as the best actor and actress of the year, while Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis won best supporting actor and actress. Directors of the movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert were awarded the best directors.
“While the gift bag does, as always, have an impressive value, that is neither our focus nor goal. This is a straightforward win/win,” underscores Fary.
“While our gifts may be famous for being fun, fabulous, useful and unique, they also serve a grander purpose. Most of the brands we include are from a diverse and inclusive array of small businesses that meaningfully benefit from the global exposure that being associated with Hollywood’s biggest night affords them. This is celebrity marketing with a mission.”
