Univar Solutions opens Solution Center for ingredient innovation across Europe
02 Mar 2022 --- Chemical and ingredient provider Univar Solutions is opening a Solution Center in Essen, Germany, to assist ingredient and specialty chemical research and product formulation application development across Europe. The center will advance and help drive demand within the Beauty & Personal care, Homecare & Industrial Cleaning and Adhesives businesses, to name a few.
“This latest Solution Center will help our customers solve problems, develop more sustainable solutions and bring new and better products to market, faster,” says Nick Powell, president, global ingredients & specialties at Univar Solutions.
“The depth and breadth of available ingredients and specialty chemicals from our broad supplier base further support customers as they work to quickly respond to regulatory changes, drive innovation, advance trends and meet consumer demand.”
The company adds that the facility houses experts in product formulation, benchmark prototyping, product performance testing and efficacy, product analysis and shelf life testing, emphasizing sustainability and development.
Developing hair care, skincare and color cosmetics
The Solution Center spans 700 square meters (7,500+ square feet) and includes laboratories, a pilot plant, meeting rooms and offices.
Hair care, toiletries, skincare, color cosmetics, topicals, tablet coatings, ointments, dishwashing formulations and construction materials are among the end product applications expected to be developed at the facility.

Univar Solutions adds that customers will benefit from the Solution Center’s capabilities from concept through development to application testing, launch, and distribution.
