On the eve of the Cannes Film Festival, Coty unveiled “Coty Protopia,” its vision for empowering bold and creative expressions of beauty. The new serum has been launched as part of the Orveda skin care line and Infiniment Coty Paris. Coty Protopia represents a new approach to power beauty through cutting-edge innovation and science, underpinned by the company’s commitment to sustainability and contemporary art.
BASF has partnered with StitchCrew, an organization serving early-stage entrepreneurs, to launch the Inclusive Beauty Accelerator. The program will provide a learning platform and business opportunities for the next generation of leaders in the beauty industry committed to creating innovative, inclusive products. Participants can present, refine and scale its business plan to bring beauty products to market. Selected participants will receive a US$10,000 non-dilutive grant, personalized coaching and the chance to showcase their products to Consumer Packaged Goods investors, StitchCrew and BASF’s extended networks.
Bath & Body Works has changed its focus to take the men’s business to the next level. In the last three years, the retailer has grown its men’s category by nearly 50% through continued product evolution and assortment expansion, including the latest introduction of new skin care and beard care collections, launched this month.
Lignopure and Eckart have entered a new distribution partnership. The partnership will significantly impact Lignopure’s distribution and formulation development, giving an optimized service experience to cosmetic formulators, brands and manufacturers using multifunctional upcycled ingredients such as its LignoBases. Eckart has a presence in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, North, Middle and South America that include, among others, France, Italy, Turkey, Sweden, the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, South Africa, Australia, China, India, Thailand and Japan.
Lignopure also revealed partnerships to scale the distribution of its LignoBase line. The Belgian company Kreglinger will oversee Germany, Austria, BENELUX and the UK, Massó will focus on Spain, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia, while Hanacare will oversee South Korea and Eckart the rest of Europe, Americas, APAC, Middle East and Africa. Lignopure’s LignoBase line comprises three ingredients: LignoBase Cool BE25, LignoBase Neutral PS25 and LignoBase Warm WS25. The multifunctional ingredients are biobased and derived from upcycling non-food competitive lignin. It boasts antioxidant, SPF boosting, mattifying and natural color benefits.
NYX Professional Makeup has launched the “Game Out Loud” pride campaign, bringing awareness to anti-LGBTQIA+ bullying in online gaming. Approximately 90% of LGBTQIA+ gamers have been harassed about their identities online. With the launch of the “Game Out Loud” campaign, the brand aims to target hate by creating safe spaces in the metaverse and real life. The company will advocate for the community by offering education and allyship training.

The fresh handmade cosmetics company Lush has completed its new Green Hub in Dorset, UK. The hub showcases the company’s commitment to investing in finding solutions for considered waste materials. Six core teams are working at the hub to create circular systems in packaging and water waste. They will also identify solutions to reuse, repurpose, repair and recycle materials.
