LVMH Japan and SoftBank have signed a strategic partnership to improve customer experience and services for luxury brands through technology. Meanwhile, personal care provider Kao is partnering with Kosé to implement horizontal recycling of cosmetic plastic bottles.

Beauty for All Industries (BFA) unveiled a US$96 million growth investment led by asset firm TPG Growth. BFA will use the new capital to improve its technology platform further, increase its retail store presence and expand into new international markets, allowing it to provide its beauty platform to consumers all over the world. BFA’s patented technology, based on machine learning, uses more than 200 million product evaluations and data from millions of beauty enthusiasts to generate personalization algorithms that inform customers’ personalized monthly bag and box combinations. Consumer input and preferences inform new product releases and market potential for both in-house and third-party companies.
LVMH Japan and SoftBank signed a strategic agreement to use technology to improve customer experience and services for luxury brands. Using a variety of SoftBank solutions and know-how, this cooperation leverages the expertise of both companies to develop and expedite new customer experiences in shops and online. The partnership will lead to the setting up cashless payments, creating app-based communication with customers and utilizing 5G technologies to enhance virtual experiences. The two companies will implement this digital transformation by combining LVMH’s tradition and quality with SoftBank’s technology and digitalization expertise. Both will respond to further changes in the business environment in the future.
Kao and Kosé collaborated to work in the cosmetics industry’s sustainability sector to create a more sustainable society. A project team from both companies is currently carrying out deliberations. Kao and Kosé have agreed to begin collaboration between Kao’s Horizontal Recycling of Cosmetic Plastic Bottles and Kosé’s cooperative venture, Recycling Cosmetics into Paints Initiative, as a first step. In the future, Kao will collaborate with Kosé to achieve horizontal bottle-to-bottle recycling, in which used cosmetic plastic bottles are collected and converted into new cosmetic bottles. Furthermore, by combining the knowledge of both organizations, Kao and Kosé will hasten the establishment of a collaborative program.

InventHelp inventor has developed a device that allows applying lotions to hard-to-reach areas on the body. The patent-pending technology may improve the way lotions and sunscreens are applied to the back and other parts of the body. It reduces the need to struggle or ask for help for these applications. It also ensures that the lotion is administered evenly.
