Cellular Goods talks protective packaging for synthesized CBG skincare
24 Feb 2022 --- UK-based cannabinoid solutions specialist Cellular Goods is partnering with beauty packaging manufacturer Quadpack to optimize the preservation of synthesized cannabinoid formulas. The collaboration applies to the brand’s new Cannabinoid Face Oil and Face Serum.
Marcia Bardauil, market insights lead at Quadpack speaks with PersonalCareInsights describing the rise in knowledgeable consumers seeking transparency from companies.
“Consumers are becoming increasingly knowledgeable; they are becoming ‘skintellectuals’. They know what ingredients are part of their formulations and what that INCI list means. They do their own research on potency, how to mix and not to mix, and what it does to your skin.”
“Brands like Ordinary can afford to have products named by their main ingredient because of these savvy consumers,” she continues.
“So it makes sense that they trust brands that communicate and share laboratory tests carried out to confirm a product's claims.” She concludes that the more trust that companies build, the more consumers will love the products.
Faulty cannabinoid packaging in markets
“Cannabinoids are particularly sensitive to oxygen, light and heat,” says Melissa Santolini, lead project manager at Cellular Goods.
She flags that the brand has observed many products in the market that are inappropriately packaged, which led to cannabinoid degradation. Due to this, Cellular Goods targets adequate packaging to protect its formulas for effective skincare.
The consumer demand for science-based products within the beauty industry continues to rise, notes Cellular Goods. It also highlights that the cannabinoid market is forecasted to represent 10% of the global skincare industry by 2024.
Solutions for competitive cannabinoid market
To combat the competitive cannabinoid market, Cellular Goods offers synthesized cannabinoids, especially CBG (cannabigerol). CBG is unique as it is lesser known than CBD and has soothing, antibacterial and antioxidant benefits when applied to the skin.
The brand explains that synthesized cannabinoids are more advantageous than CBD. It is deemed purer than CBD as it is not exposed to pesticides or environmental pathogens.
Additionally, synthesized cannabinoids are more sustainable than plant-derived alternatives, claims Cellular Goods.
Blazing up with NPD
As consumers continue to gain awareness about the soothing properties of cannabis-based botanical compounds, product development continues to increase in this space. EthicaCBD unveils fast-acting CBD and CBG sports gel with a cooling sensation in recent developments within the space.
Additionally, Skincare company, Aforé has published a research paper outlining the anti-aging effects when CBD is combined with retinol.
Cellular Goods product’s matte white packaging is made from recyclable glass. It includes a black silkscreen to protect the formulae. In addition, the bottle comes with a dropper for the face oil and a pump for the lotion.
Among other recent acquisitions within cannabinoid markets, cannabis company Creso Pharma snapped up Sierra Sage Herbs.
