Perfect Corp partnered with Colgate to launch a specialized tooth whitening algorithm that brings the experience of using Colgate Optic White Overnight Teeth Whitening Pen to life via AR simulation. The results show two weeks of use. The tooth whitening AR was developed through research and collaboration between Colgate experts and Perfect Corp.’s engineers.
Nivea Men and football team Real Madrid continued their global partnership, entering the tenth year of the collaboration. They will continue partnering for another three seasons through 2025. The brands started their collaboration in 2017 after four years of successful partnerships in selected countries. Parent company, Beiersdorf notes the brands share the same values and complement each other. Nivea Men also recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.
adwoa beauty secured US$4 million from Pendulum, an investing platform that values and is seeking to grow opportunities for leaders of color. Until now, the brand has been self-funded. The recent capital investment will allow adwoa to meet the demands for its award-winning products. Its products cater to multicultural hair textures with clean formulas and gender-neutral packaging.
Launches and releases
Haus Labs by singer-songwriter Lady Gaga unveiled three clean and vegan makeup products online and at 480 Sephora stores in the US and Canada. They include a clean, weightless, buildable medium coverage, long-wear foundation with patent-pending fermented arnica in 51 shades, made in Korea. The second product is a Talc-Free Loose Setting Powder that comes in five shades, followed by a foundation brush.
Procter & Gamble (P&G) launched its most extensive limited edition collection yet for its home and fabric brands. The range is the result of collaborating with longtime brand ambassador Mrs. Hinch. The collection comes in the scent of Frosted Eucalyptus. Mrs. Hinch has been a P&G ambassador since 2018 and has created multiple limited edition collections.
Gxve Beauty, launched by musical icon Gwen Stefani, debuted its digital community platform, The Gxve Community. The platform was made to provide consumers a space to create, share and inspire makeup looks while benefiting financially through a commission rate noted to be above the industry average. The platform was launched to find other ways of interacting with makeup fans.
Biolage Professional introduced its Strength Recovery Collection infused with 100% vegan squalane. The collection comes in four products to repair, strengthen and increase softness and manageability. The collection is noted to strengthen hair up to three times after one use with 73% less breakage. It is also vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-, mineral oil-, and colorant-free.
Cosmax Group’s Cosmax NBT and Cosmax BIO showcased its beauty supplements Agatri and rosemary gold extract Sunmax. Agatri extract is derived from Korean mint, which benefits skin elasticity and wrinkle depth by aiding collagen synthesis. It also increases hyaluronic acid content in the dermis, thus improving moisturization. Sunmax defends skin from damage caused by ultraviolet rays.
Sierra Sage Herbs’s brand Green Goo launched the Plants for Your Face and Body skincare collection. This targets various skin conditions such as acne, eczema, sun damage, wrinkles, dry skin and psoriasis. The collection features the brand’s proprietary lipid infusion process. Awards and celebrations
Aptar was awarded the Green Sustainable Development Contribution at the 2022 International Green Zero-Carbon Festival in Beijing, China. This was in recognition of the company’s contributions to carbon reduction, technology innovation, and protecting the natural environment. The company says a local media channel nominated it for its environmental, social, and corporate governance and transparency progress.
Amorepacific Group celebrated its 77th anniversary with a message from Suh Kyung-bae, chairman and CEO: “let’s open a future of beauty that evolves customers, the world, and all of us.” The company was established in 1945 and grew into a beauty company representing Korea. It also founded Korea’s first cosmetics research lab and exported Korean-made cosmetics globally.
