A-list beauty in spotlight: Kim K unveils Coty skincare line, Nicole Kidman advocates Vegamour
02 Jun 2022 --- Hollywood A-lister and one of the most influential women in US media entertainment, Kim Kardashian and Nicole Kidman are entering the beauty and personal care market alongside business partnerships with multi-national beauty company Coty and hair wellness brand Vegamour.
Skkn by Kim skincare line was inspired by seeking to create high-performance skincare with dermatological experts.
“What began as a psoriasis diagnosis became the catalyst for my journey of skincare discoveries, inspiring me to learn more about my skin and how to care for it,” shares Kim Kardashian, CEO and brand founder of Skkn by Kim.
The skincare line comes with nine products in minimalist and refillable packaging.
Beauty fit for all
All the products are formulated with experts at Coty, created to be fit for “all skin types, tones, and textures at every stage of maturity.”
The products are clinically proven and support the skin’s natural ability to “revitalize” complexion. “Fueled by years of gathered insights, Skkn by Kim’s science-backed formulas work together to reactivate skin’s inner potential,” says Kardashian.
“In all of my business endeavors, I’ve been filling gaps in the market with expertly-crafted and universally-loved products that are performance-driven – and I have carried this same drive and approach with me into creating a skincare brand.”
“Working with some of the top dermatologists and estheticians over the years has given me the opportunity to learn from their expertise — and I knew I had to share my learnings,” she continues.
Formulations of the refillable line
The line starts with a lightly-foaming cleanser that gently cleanses waterproof makeup and unwanted oils. The refills are also packaged inside eco-friendly material.
The follow-up toner exfoliates with acids and enzymes – reducing pore appearance and improving texture. Another exfoliator uses a mechanical and enzymatic exfoliator to promote skin renewal.
The hyaluronic acid serum contains a multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid serum delivering 72-hour moisturization. The second serum contains vitamin C8 to help boost collagen synthesis – to reduce the appearance of pigmentation, wrinkles and fine lines.
A nourishing skin cream follows further in the skincare routine. The “firming moisturizer” is formulated with postbiotics and a natural alternative to retinol – improving elasticity and radiance.
For eye illumination, the eye cream preserves elasticity and reduces puffiness and fine lines by providing moisture. It is formulated with hyaluronic acid and peptides for stimulating collagen production.
Additionally, the oil drops are stabilized active forms of Vitamin C to even the skin tone to promote a glowy look. Also, a night oil provides a recovery treatment for overnight supple and glowy skin by morning.
Don’t forget hair care!
Vegamours partnership with Kidman “is the first step in the company’s global expansion plans,” with plans this year to extend to Europe, China and Australia.
“We hadn’t set out looking for a partner, but once I met Nicole, it just made sense. We’re aligned across the board, from the importance of a natural, holistic approach to optimal hair wellness, to our focus on sustainability, biodiversity, social impact, and product efficacy,” says Dan Hodgdon, CEO at Vegamour.
“It wasn’t about being the face of the brand or selling products, but being an advocate for a holistically-minded lifestyle that prioritizes self-care,” adds the American-Australian actress. To her, it was about the organically-grown, wild-harvested ingredients that mattered for maintaining a healthy scalp ecosystem and haircare.
With her own experience of hair improvement within a week, Kidman began recommending Vegamour to her friends. This sparked a conversation with Hodgdon.
“I’d like to use my personal story and the daily challenges of my professional life to educate, inspire, and help people live their healthiest and happiest life — of which hair wellness plays an integral part,” she concludes.
