Adidas and Coty debut pre- and post-sports body care for rapid skin moisture recovery
27 Sep 2022 --- Adidas has partnered with Coty to launch Active Skin & Mind, a range of deodorants and shower products designed to help athletes achieve optimal performance and recovery. The products contain a complex of glycerol and hyaluronic acid that aids rapid skin moisture recovery and increases the skin hydration level while protecting it from dryness.
Sports scientists created the Active Skin & Mind range of deodorants and shower products that work together as an active support system.
“Even though the skin is our body’s largest organ, research has revealed that athletes don’t think of their skin as part of their sports equipment,” Coty states.
Designed to change the perception of pre- and post-sports body care as part of the workout, the range employs a formula infused with natural essential oils intended to increase the skin hydration level.
“The new Active Skin & Mind range is designed specifically for the active, ensuring they can level up their performance and get the powerful mix of ingredients they need. The range is also completely eco-friendly,” says Nadja Körner, VP Adidas at Coty.
Active Skin & Mind shower gels use sulfate-free and clean formulas, suitable for those with sensitive skin types.
The vegan shower gel formulas are 98% biodegradable, packed in 100% recycled material and refillable, while the packaging for the roll-on deodorants are made with 25% recycled glass and 98% recycled plastic caps.
The range includes plastic-free options, including shower bars, deodorant sticks and paper-based packaging.
Double revenue
Recently, Coty disclosed its strategy to double its skincare sales by the fiscal year 2025. “The company’s revenues are on track to double to US$500 to 600 million by FY25,” affirmed Sue Y. Nabi, CEO at Coty.
The company is targeting skincare technologies within five key areas and helping them thrive financially. The areas include full-light protection, oxygen delivery, retinol vectorization, DNA repair and bio-fermented blends.
As such, the latest partnership announcement with Adidas for an active support system for bodycare falls in line.
