Cetaphil spills new blue daisy-based botanical hydrating line for sensitive skin
03 May 2022 --- Sensitive skincare brand Cetaphil has unveiled its Optimal Hydration line for the face and eye area, combining hydration with lightness. The skincare line is formulated using blue daisy, which has a soothing effect on the skin and contains hyaluronic acid to provide rejuvenating and hydrating effects.
The line comprises facial serum, eye serum, and facial moisturizer. The formulation has a light texture and is easily absorbed into the skin.
All the products have been dermatologically tested and are hypoallergenic, so they are suitable for those with sensitive or reactive skin.
Notable benefits of Cetaphil Optimal Hydration include a 50% increased hydration, an in-vitro study finds. The products also calm the skin and improve its texture and glow.
Intense hydration and texture improvement
Apart from hydrating the facial skin, the Hydrating Facial Serum also improves the skin luminosity and texture after a month of regular use. The glow and texture improvement was found by dermatological evaluation on 41 participants who applied the serum twice a day.
The Eye Area Serum has been ophthalmologically tested on sensitive skin for 28 days. The light textured product provides “deep and prolonged hydration for 48 hours” after a single application to the skin.
“After one month of use, the skin texture is visibly revitalized and smooth, and you can count on the moisturizing effect even two days after the last application,” shares Cetaphil.
The skincare line is formulated using blue daisy and contains hyaluronic acid.
Additionally, the Eye Area Serum targets fine lines around the eyes to reduce dark circles and increase the skin’s firmness around the eye. A significant decrease in dark circles in 42 participants was observed after the first month of use, shares the brand.
Anti-wrinkle and brightening
The Creme Hidratante Facial is created with HydroSensitiv TM complex, which increases the concentration of water in the skin, shares the brand. The effects are immediate with “intense hydration for 48 hours,” finds a clinical study evaluating the product’s impact on subjects with dry to very dry and sensitive skin.
Furthermore, Creme Hidratante Facial has been shown to help recover the skin barrier and instantly bring out the skin’s natural glow. This was found by a “perception study, carried out with 40 participants, immediately after application.”

Cleaning for sensitive skin
Serums and moisturizers come after cleansing within the skincare routine. Moisturizers are the last to seal the serum into the skin. During the day, sunscreen should be used to prevent Sun damage which can affect sensitive skin, suggests Cetaphil.
The brand outlines tips on cleaning sensitive skin, starting with gentle cleansing to maintain the skin’s hydration levels while also removing foreign substances on the skin. Fragrance-free and soap-free are recommended.
Hydration follows after the cleansing step, especially using formulas free of dyes and fragrance and with high levels of ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier.
