Goldn unveils digital NPD creation platform Product Builder for the cosmetics industry
Product Builder enables beauty brands and developers to create products, collaborate and get to market faster
28 Sep 2021 --- US-German technology company Goldn GmbH has debuted an online, easy-to-use cosmetic product development tool that helps beauty brands and cosmetic product developers of any level of experience develop formula-based products.
“Getting to market with a formula-based product in the personal care industry is challenging. The complex and time-consuming process requires tools that are technical and complicated,” says Udo Eberlein, CEO of Goldn.
“At Goldn, we are bringing the necessary people, goods and guidance all together in a platform designed specifically to support cosmetic creation at launch. This intuitive solution will significantly reduce development time for most users.”
From idea to product
Goldn’s Product Builder guides cosmetic product creators through all the different phases of development.

The digital end-to-end solution provides individuals and small teams a single platform to simplify product creation and significantly decrease time to market.
The Goldn Product Builder platform includes the following features:
- Ideation: leverage idea boards to find and share inspiration for new products.

Industry digitalization
The company says that this product release is its first step in simplifying product development and addressing the currently fragmented and largely analog chemicals industry through digitalization.
Goldn’s product roadmap includes creating an ecosystem for suppliers from across the value chain, such as cosmetic manufacturers, ingredients and packaging suppliers, cosmetic formulators, test institutes, regulatory and marketing agencies to showcase their products and services and collaborate with brands to create new products.
In other digitalization efforts, Coty entered a multi-channel agreement with Perfect Corp. enlisting the latter’s augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to boost personalization and improve consumers’ digital experience.
“Beauty and cosmetic brands have realized that one-size-fits-all products are no longer relevant, as each consumer has their unique needs, concerns and characteristics,” Sylvain Delteil, assistant vice president of business development, Perfect Corp. Europe, told PersonalCareInsights.
Avon México is also integrating advanced AR and AI in its digital platforms, in partnership with Perfect Corp.
Perfect Corp. is the developer of YouCam Makeup app and the technology can empower Avon sales representatives with a facial analysis technology tool to deliver a more personalized consumer shopping experience.
In similar moves, Avery Dennison launched atma.io, a digital venture bridging the physical and digital worlds. atma.io is a connected product cloud: an end-to-end platform capable of creating, assigning and managing unique digital identities for every physical item in the world.
