Hit the face gym: Amiro develops “facial yoga” devices to depuff and destress
21 Jun 2023 --- In recognition of International Day of Yoga taking place today, beauty device manufacturer Amiro is highlighting its latest range of facial skin tightening devices, R1 and S1, which complement users’ daily face exercise routine.
TikTok-trending facial “workouts” often involve deep tissue massages presented as non-invasive treatments that sculpt the face, release tension and improve blood flow and collagen production. While the popularity of “face gym” treatments is largely driven by influencers who frequent specialists for these therapies, new launches of personal skin care gadgets are bringing the gym into at-home routines.
Amiro’s R1 and S1 are new handheld devices that emit radiofrequency waves that heat up the skin, stimulating collagen production and diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Results can be observed by up to 32.6% in just 28 days, according to the company.

An inclusion of infrared light and red light in the devices works on deep layers of the skin, enhancing elasticity, improving microcirculation and promoting a healthy glow.

“Yoga, with its holistic approach to integrating the mind and body, enables individuals to restore their energy and face the complexities of the world with strength,” remarks Ke Li, chief information officer at Amiro.
“Amiro’s philosophy aligns with the principles of yoga, as it does not believe in reversing time. Instead, we empower women to have the courage to combat the effects of aging and embrace their natural beauty.”

In other innovations comprising light therapy, a new topical gel containing spirulina extract showed efficacy in improving the skin’s qualities in a non-invasive way, when activated using red LED light therapy, according to a recent study.
Shiseido developed a technique to inhibit melanin production by combining Panax ginseng root extract with unique radio frequency irradiation based on high-frequency electrical stimulation at a uniquely set frequency.
In other developments, the use of LED face masks was found to improve a user’s overall skin glow and facial flushing by researchers at Namseoul National University, South Korea.
