Indigo Marine Collagen launches in tropical flavors to boost skin, hair and bone health from within
18 Aug 2021 --- Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition’s Indigo Marine Collagen brand is now available in three new flavors – Raspberry Lime, Blueberry Acai, Dragon Fruit – as well as a travel-size format for convenience.
Building off last year’s release of the original Indigo Marine Collagen, the brand has expanded and improved its line of marine collagen to add a tropical boost to any drink, the company says.
Each of Indigo’s three new flavors contains 20 servings of high-quality marine collagen to make consumers “look and feel their best,” Indigo supports.
Travel appropriate nutrition
In addition to the new flavors, Indigo has designed a travel-sized version, which contains ten servings of pure marine collagen to fit in any travel bag.
The new flavors and travel size are formulated to be easier to dissolve than any other marine collagen product on the market, instantly mixing into water, juice, coffee or other drinks.

The brand emphasizes its commitment to sustainability, clean and simple ingredients, faster absorption, and a transparent supply chain.

Alternative collagen sources
Alternative collagens are gaining momentum, with several industry players exploring marine-based and vegan collagens.
Canadian health and wellness brand Revelox recently launched Dermalux; an anti-aging marine collagen formulation touted as offering “firm skin, shiny hair and healthy nails.”
Dermalux is a scientifically backed, highly-concentrated collagen formula that comes in a powdered format and can be consumed daily with water.
Rousselot also introduced a new collagen peptide ingredient to the beauty and skincare market. Peptan Marine can help beauty and nutrition brands differentiate and expand their portfolio with sustainably sourced, premium nutricosmetics and dietary supplements, the company says.
Meanwhile, ecocentric biodesign company Geltor unveiled the first-ever “human collagen” created for cosmetic formulations, coined HumaColl21. HumaColl21 is produced with “zero animal inputs” and is touted as having maximum biocompatibility with human skin cells.
Evonik developed an advanced collagen platform produced via fermentation-based processes without any animal or human-derived ingredients.
Evonik notes that the new recombinant technology will provide the pharmaceutical, medical, cell culture and tissue engineering markets with a highly soluble, ultra-pure form of collagen that is safe, sustainable and commercially scalable.
