Kicks becomes “first Nordic” beauty chain to score Revieve’s AI and AR-powered platform
09 Nov 2022 --- Kicks, a Nordic cosmetics company, is now offering its customers a personalized beauty service by launching a makeup advisor and virtual try-on experience, powered by Revieve, to help customers try on makeup products online before buying.
Labeled as “the first Nordic operator in the beauty industry to use Revieve’s AI/AR-powered beauty platform,” Kicks’ store beauty experts can also use the platform via in-store tablets to personalize the shopping experience for customers.
Using Kicks’ Skin Analytics, consumers can analyze their skin health and pinpoint areas of focus across different concerns and the platform – pegged as “easy-to-use” by the company – will deliver personalized product recommendations.
“We continuously try new ways to serve our customers better and, at the same time, promote the digital development of the industry,” Freddy Sobin, CEO at Kicks, explains.
“With these digital experiences, we take another step forward in creating a personalized and guided shopping experience for our customers, regardless of the channel.”
Analytics for aesthetics
Customers can use Kicks Skin Analytics to assess their skin’s needs and conditions and locate the perfect items through customized product suggestions. Using a selfie and a skin condition questionnaire, artificial intelligence (AI) technology examines the customer’s skin.
To provide product recommendations, the AI also considers a number of additional skin-related aspects, including the customer’s location’s air quality, UV index and air humidity.
Following the skin care examination, the consumer receives tailored product suggestions for their morning and evening routines. Additionally, the buyer has the option to select a preferred price range for his personalized product recommendations.
Virtual try-on
Before making a purchase, clients may virtually put on makeup with Kicks’ Makeup Advisor and Virtual Try On.
Customers may browse and purchase new items and shades while simultaneously virtually trying one or more things on their faces thanks to AI-powered product recommendations and “hyperrealistic” augmented reality (AR) try-on.
“Together with Kicks, we want to pave the way for digital change in the beauty industry and offer personalized beauty to customers through new technology,” Sampo Parkkinen, CEO and founder of Revieve, concludes.
Tapping into tech
Recently, there have been several technological developments in the skincare industry. The importance of interaction with the metaverse and cloud-related innovations has never been greater as the industry shifts toward increasing the use of digital tools.
Similar moves were observed through the partnership between Revieve and JCPenny which also produced a skincare advisor and a hyper-realistic AR makeup try-on technology to personalize the customer shopping experience.
Another collaborative effort between Revieve and a cosmetics company saw Magnet Beauty’s development of a live, personalized service with licensed and brand-certified beauty advisors in cosmetics, skincare and hair care.
Additionally, the company released its Complete Metaverse Playbook for beauty brands and retailers to take full advantage of new prospects in these virtual spaces. The report outlines the future of the metaverse and discusses how personal care companies should navigate it.
