Kiehl’s new hydrating mask offers rich oil and water-based skin barrier

14 Jan 2022 --- Kiehl’s has launched Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask with 10.5% squalane. The plant-derived squalane oil is noncomedogenic and stabilizes the skin barrier by preventing the loss of moisture from the skin. The mask is an upgrade of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, positioned as the number one best-seller for hydrating moisturizers internationally.

If the mask is applied overnight, it will mainly prevent water loss. This is because “the skin can experience up to 93% more water loss” at night, describes Dr. Nancy Ilaya, Kiehl’s global scientific director. She explains that this happens because the skin produces less sebum/oil.

The mask and cream both boost the skin barrier by 49% and offer the same moisturizing levels across all climates.
