P2 Science unveils trend-based sustainable color cosmetics collection

Green chemistry company P2 Science, sourcing its ingredients from circular feedstocks, has launched a sustainable color cosmetics collection, Feel Good Color. The launch is accompanied by a downloadable e-book that pairs three of 2026’s “most influential” complexion trends with formulations containing the company’s CitroSperse bio-based pigment dispersions. 

CitroSperse is based on polycitronellol as a sustainable, silicone-free alternative emollient.

“CitroSperse is high-quality, easy to work with, and dependable shade after shade,” says Jeff Parker, VP of sales at P2 Science. “Beyond pigment strength and consistency, it’s built on our signature green chemistry, a silicone-free, 100% natural-origin dispersant that’s a clear and unique differentiator among pigment dispersions.”

Expanding P2 Science’s “Feel Good” platform, Feel Good Color addresses consumers’ focus on “realness, sensory, and sustainability,” according to the manufacturer.

Silicone-free complexion finishes

Available on P2 Science’s website, the Feel Good Color e-book summarizes the latest beauty trends and formulas.

P2 Science underscores the growth of silicone-free claims and popularity of “skin-first, hybrid colors” that infuse cosmetics with skin-friendly ingredients.

These trends underpin the demand for green chemistry-powered emollients and pigment dispersions to deliver unique sensory and high-performing products.

The new collection showcases three types of complexion finishes to ready-to-formulate prototypes. Suede Skin is a “velvety medium” between glow and matte, presented in a Liquid Silk Silicone-free Foundation and a Soft Velvet Foundation Stick.

Cloud Skin is a “soft, diffused, filter-like complexion,” showcased in a Tinted Moisturizing Mousse.

Solar Flush is a “warm, sun-kissed flush without the UV,” featured in a multi-use Color Stick in the shade Desert Orchid.

The three complexion prototypes — foundation, stick, and mousse — come with a 45-shade formulation guide. This offers formulators a comprehensive skin-tone range and a custom-blend framework to build shades with CitroSperse iron oxide and titanium dioxide dispersions.

Based on the naturally derived, silicone-free Citropol carrier, CitroSperse delivers a high pigment load for “bold, buildable color” in less time and with less product, alongside beautiful sensory, according to P2 Science.

Greener emollients

Sustainable and biodegradable emollients are in vogue, presenting a viable second life for upcycled ingredients. Demand for these circular alternatives is rising as EU restrictions on D4, D5, and D6 silicones expand to leave-on products, which take effect in June next year.

In this field, Scottish green-tech company Celtic Renewables recently partnered with Evonik to produce Ecohance Soft Bol, a sustainable emollient boasting a silky, luxurious skin feel using locally sourced byproducts such as whisky pot ale and rejected potatoes.

Meanwhile, Seppic released data on its Emogreen range — a collection of biodegradable and plant-based emollients — confirming its sustainability profile while maintaining performance. The ingredients offer targeted alternatives to specific silicones. For instance, Emogreen L15 replicates the experience of low molecular weight Dimethicone (5 cst) but with better airiness and less greasiness. Emogreen L19 mimics Dimethicone 100 cst while providing better softness.
