Shades by Shan launches lip shine in "Peach Fuzz" for Pantone’s Color of the Year
08 Dec 2023 --- Shades by Shan unveils a new lip product in “Peach Fuzz.” The San Francisco-based cosmetics company says it is an exclusive formulation designed to complement Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year program.
The lip product is touted as an exclusive offering with “a unique blend of bold, bright, soft and subtle shades, marketed as beautiful for every skin tone.
Formulated to make a statement and leave a lasting impression, this exclusive formulation offers “endless possibilities for creating stunning looks.”
Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, sees the new color as “a versatile shade that creates a warm, natural rosy glow flattering complexions across a large variety of undertones.”
She also says she is “happy to partner with Shades by Shan as not only a wonderful way to realize the color in beauty but also as a partner whose essence embodies the meaning of [Peach Fuzz].”
Pantone’s peachy hue
Pantone’s Peach Fuzz 13-1023 is described as “a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration. A warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others or for enjoying a moment of stillness and the feeling of sanctuary.”
It says the 2024 choice “needed to be a color whose warm and welcoming embrace conveyed a message of compassion and empathy. One that was nurturing and whose cozy sensibility brought people together and elicited a feeling of tactility. One that reflected our feeling for days that seemed simpler but at the same time has been rephrased to display a more contemporary ambiance. One whose gentle lightness and airy presence lifts us into the future.”
Pantone’s 25th anniversary
Known for its color standards and digital solutions in the design community, Pantone is seen as the universal language of color.
Its Color of the Year program celebrates its 25th anniversary with Peach Fuzz. The company launched the program in 1999 with Pantone 15-4020 Cerulean Blue, and since then, it has become a cultural phenomenon.
Dream come true collaboration
Shades by Shan’s founder and CEO, Shan Berries, says the collaboration with Pantone is “a dream come true” and that she “couldn’t be more excited” about what it means for the company’s brand and community.
The Lip Shine is the first item launched in the company’s new collection, with more products planned for next year.
Shades by Shan plans to donate a percentage of the proceeds from every Lip Shine sale to its “MamaBerries Nonprofit Foundation” to help support single parents in need.
