In brief: Business news
Azelis entered a distribution agreement with Seqens Advanced Cosmetics, a manufacturer of tailor-made ingredients and solutions. The deal will allow Azelis customers in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg to access Seqens’ acyl chlorides, produced in France. This new agreement reinforces Azelis’ partnership with Seqens, which is already established in the personal care segment, and the addition of acyl chlorides, used in the production of cosmetic active ingredients and perfumes, complements Azelis’ lateral value chain.
MyMicrobiome expanded its microbiome-friendly certification for textiles. The seal will allow for textiles to be labeled for the “first time.” The labels will prove that the materials have been tested and do not harm the skin’s microbiome. The seal is expected to be available from the fourth quarter of 2022. Additionally, this seal addresses some textiles’ damage to the skin’s microbiome, such as inflammation and skin diseases.
The Estée Lauder Companies have generated US$1.8 million in new sales with a 98x ROI in the first year of text-to-buy campaigns with Textual – a mobile commerce market and developer of a text-to-buy platform. Through Textual, a consumer either responds to an offer in text or requests to buy a product directly through text. As shipping and payment information is securely stored in a tokenized vault, the purchase process can be done in as little as one text.

Beiersdorf’s “Climate Care” mission is supported by the company’s project concerning shea supply in West Africa. The project aims to empower women and contribute to climate protection. Currently, 4,000 women in Burkina Faso and Ghana have taken part in the training courses and learned how to use local materials to build safer and more efficient alternatives to traditional stoves. They have also learned how to protect their source of income by managing the shea parklands; so far, 5,000 seedlings of the shea tree alone have been planted.
