Weekly Roundup: Coty boosts cruelty-free alliance, Chanel to host Parisian fragrance event

Luxury brand Chanel will also host a fragrance and magic event in Paris in January 2023. Meanwhile, Azelis has acquired all of Eurotrading’s stock.

Brenntag, a chemical and additives distribution company, announced a multi-year partnership with Salesforce to provide its clients and supply partners with simple, data-driven, and individualized user experiences.
L’Oréal USA declared that it will evict its long-standing buildings in Clark, New Jersey, and build a new research and innovation center instead. This US$140 million development project will be the biggest investment in an R&I facility in the company’s history.
From December 15, 2022, through January 9, 2023, Chanel will stage an event in Paris’ Grand Palais Éphémère called Le Grand Numéro De Chanel. The event will include, among others, a debut of scents and magic tricks.
Azelis has acquired all of Eurotrading’s stock. Eurotrading is a distributor of specialty chemicals to the Italian personal care industry. This move will increase Azelis’ presence in the country’s personal care sector.
Tenth Avenue Holdings acquired a majority stake in Under Your Skin, a natural skin and hair care brand based in Sweden. Under Your Skin’s product line will launch in the US in 2023.

Launches and releases
Evidence Skincare, a cosmeceutical skincare firm founded by Australian celebrity doctor Ginni Mansberg, released Ageless: dissolving microneedle eye patches made to combat skin imperfections like pigmentation, crow’s feet and fine lines and wrinkles.
Cetaphil unveiled its Fast Absorbing Cream Gel in honor of the brand’s 75th anniversary. The new product features a formula rich in emollient agents and has a light texture.
Through its Effaclar acne franchise, La Roche-Posay collaborated with dermatologists from around the world to develop Effaclar Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Serum. The serum is designed exclusively to treat adult acne, whose clinical symptoms are different from those of juvenile acne.
Community outreach
To increase the employability of young people in the beginning phases of their professions, L’Oréal introduced the Boost program, which will grant 20,000 students access to a variety of on-demand digital courses from Coursera each year. L’Oréal Boost will do this by providing access to crucial education that spans the gap between school and the workplace.
Awards and recognition
Mibelle Biochemistry won the BSB Innovation Award in the category Environment (subcategory ingredients protection, skin hydration) for its SLVR Coffee product: a hydrating product that protects the epidermis from internal and external stressors as well as transepidermal water loss.
The Board of Directors of The Beauty Health Company, owner of the flagship brand Hydrafacial, approved a share repurchase program for up to US$200 million of the company’s outstanding common shares.
