Changing climates
Recently, Givaudan was granted a double A rating for the third consecutive time by the CDP. The rating means the company has made significant changes to its manufacturing and supply-chain operations. In light of the news, Givaudan has reaffirmed its commitment to become more transparent and sustainable in its practices.
In 2020, the industry giant also became a founding member of the B Movement Builders Initiative. Givaudan has stated its ambitions to become a certified B Corporation.
The CDP is a non-profit that monitors and discloses the carbon output and sustainability practices of more than 13,000 companies worldwide. The organization also supports the climate goals of governments and states. The CDP works with 590 investors and has over US$110 trillion in assets.
In product news, Tree Hut announced its new line of Whipped body Butters and Shea Sugar Scrubs to “winterize” consumers’ skincare routines. The range of winter skincare products will be available to US consumers at Walmart or Target stores and via online retailers.
Tree Hut’s new line features a range of products with active ingredients, including a Strawberry Sugar Scrub made with salicylic acid. Many of Tree Hut’s formerly available products will also be returning to these outlets.
According to the plastic surgery and cosmetics education website Tajmeeli, moisturizing and hydrating is a big concern for consumers during winter, with #DrySkin being one of the most commonly viewed categories on winter skincare TikToks.
