Fresh on skincare market
“Consumer-tech” company and maker of Il Makiage, Oddity is launching SpoiledChild, its second skincare line. Oddity says the line is neither anti-aging nor pro-aging, allowing users to define their own approach to age-control skincare.
The new line will offer a personalized user experience, matching consumers to products most suited to their needs and preferences via Oddity’s inaugural brand and machine learning engine, SpoiledBrain.
Over three years, Oddity has amassed over US$250 in online sales “via proprietary technology” with its Il Makiage line.
Actress America Ferrera has made her debut as the face of Clean Fresh Skincare. The line is low-cost, vegan and contains ingredients like TruClean cactus water, rosewater, meadowfoam seed oil and shea butter.
The newest Coty’s Covergirl campaign will take place in English and Spanish in a celebration of America Ferrera’s background as a second-generation American Latina.
Perricone MD revealed its Cold Plasma Plus Concentrated Treatment Sheet Mask to promote youthful-looking skin. The product contains vitamin C ester, copper tripeptide and phospholipids and was launched as a part of Perricone MD’s “cult-classic” Cold Plasma Plus line.
Perricone MD says in a study of 26 women, the two-piece mask was reported to significantly improve sagging, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores in six days.

Beauty launches galore
Legacy black hair care brand Dark & Lovely has just launched its Uplift Bleach Kit to help consumers achieve the lightest shades of blonde. Dark & Lovely brand ambassador Storm Reid praised the kit’s utility for at-home haircare.
The brand, which is entering its 50th year of operation, says the kit will minimize the damage done to hair during the bleaching process. Dark & Lovely’s affordable kit promises up to 8 levels of lift and contains “encapsulated oils” to offer better hydration during the bleaching process, protecting users’ curl pattern.
Beauty brand about-face has released its Shine of the Times collection of body glitter accessories. The collection includes five Light Lock Illuminating “jelly cream” body glitters and a soft Light Lock Body Brush to apply the cream glitter.
The about-face brand was founded by singer Ashley Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey. It is entirely cruelty-free and vegan. The launch comes as an extension of the brand’s “signature collections,” Fractal and Light Lock.
KISS Colors & Care is partnering with actor and rapper Shad Moss, also known as Bow Wow, for its 2022 men’s collection. The collection will include two hair tools and one durag to maintain styles and moisture. Men’s care and grooming products have seen a rise in popularity in recent years.
Finally, the KISS Colors & Care Twist King, an “innovative” tool, will help users create and maintain twist & loc hairstyles and reportedly lasts twice as long as traditional foam brushes. The Power Wave Boar Brush is made of “100% boar bristles” to help users keep their hair shiny and maintain wave hairstyles.
Lastly, the Power Wave Durag is a “high-compression” functional fashion accessory that helps maintain waves, braids, locks and smooth hairstyles.
Menopause taskforce
The task force’s inaugural meeting was held on Wednesday, where ministers and senior clinicians vowed to coordinate and work together to support women with menopause across each country. This news comes as the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency seeks to reclassify a locally-used hormone replacement therapy product known as Gina 10, a form of estradiol or estrogen steroid hormone.
The reclassification could mean those in the UK could have access to over-the-counter menopause care, marking substantial progress for women’s health and greatly expanding the market for similar products.
Millions in the UK are faced with menopause each year, with symptoms such as, anxiety, low mood, hot flashes and sexual discomfort. According to Amyris, 12% of the global population will be menopausal. The gender health gap means that those going through menopause often face these distressing symptoms alone – which the Task Force vows to address.
