One of London’s fastest-growing luxury skincare brands, Argentum Apothecary, received a new financing round from China’s leading luxury brand management group, Ushopal. Also, there has been a flurry of accolades including, L’Oréal being awarded the Terra Carta 2021 Seal and Symrise receiving the Sustainability Heroes Award for the second year running.

Armani beauty appointed Brazilian model and activist Valentina Sampaio as its newest face. Valentina Sampaio is joining Armani beauty alongside actresses Cate Blanchett, Zhong Chuxi, Adria Arjona, Alice Pagani and Greta Ferro; actors Ryan Reynolds, Jackson Yee and Nicholas Hoult; as well as models Barbara Palvin and Madisin Rian. Sampaio began her modeling career in 2016 walking in São Paulo Fashion Week. “I am so excited to be joining Armani as a beauty face. As a trans woman, this collaboration is a great milestone and a personal dream come true for me. Makeup has played such a meaningful role in my personal evolution, and I am grateful to Armani beauty for embracing diversity, enabling creative expression and empowering individual beauty,” Sampaio says.

The Independent Innovation Awards recognized Eyebrations Triple Action Eye Serum with the “Eye Cream Product of the Year” 2021 award. It commended the sourcing model of Symrise, which draws on continual, close cooperation with local communities. For the Holzminden-based Group, this includes making jobs in agriculture attractive for young people again.
