Frédéric Faugeroux of Ashland highlighted the global debut of Eternight, marking the company’s first time initiating a worldwide ingredient launch in China. He emphasised the importance of regional customization, noting that trends such as skin brightening remain highly relevant in China and require targeted ingredient development. Backed by a Shanghai-based clinical lab established in 2006, Ashland continues to tailor innovations to local market needs, positioning longevity as a key driver in the evolution of high-performance, consumer-focused beauty solutions.

Welcome.
So what ingredients are you showcasing at this year and what is the standout launch you're most excited to present?
I'm very excited to introduce this year a new product.
This product is a global launch and it's the first time we started a global launch in China.
Our product is called Etherite, and We are targeting longevity to develop it at night.
We have addressed the specific mythopeptide called humanin, and as a sourcing we are using the Irish palida roots and with this ingredient we are aiming to reverse the aging process.
Acting on the mitochondrias and delivering their reverse aging message, and yeah, this is, I'm expecting a lot from this product.
This is a very promising ingredient.
How are Ashland's ingredient solutions tailored specifically for the Chinese beauty, consumer, and regional trends?
So we do address in our global approach we do address different region and of course each region has a separate different culture.
And what happened is that we are looking for the Chinese trends and one of the important trends here is the skin brightening.
We have addressed this with a local development.
We do have a plant here in Nanjing and we do have in Shanghai R&D lab, and we developed tailor-made ingredients for the market.
Therefore, we have developed one called Natrient Aurora, which is an extra.
Dedicated to enhance the skin brightening and address the needs of the Chinese consumer and Chinese and Asian consumers increasingly demand clinically proven efficacy.
How is that shaping the type of ingredients and technologies you're bringing to the market?
So, since 2006, we have set up a dedicated clinical lab in Shanghai.
One of our strengths is to have, internal clinical studies.
So we do have some in Europe, in the US, and of course here in China.
So we do have this clinical testing and to support the Chinese market.
And then looking toward the next 2 to 3 years, where do you see the Chinese beauty ingredients landscape heading, and how is Ashland positioning itself for that future?
Actually, anti-aging was an important trend, and we see a new trends still belonging to anti-aging linked to longevity.
Through this longevity trend, we address the hallmark of aging.
And we do develop dedicated tailor-made ingredients in the regions for the region, so we see a lot of tailor-made products coming in the 2 to 3 years to support this new longevity trend.
Perfect, and thank you for joining us on Insights.
