In-cosmetics Global 2026: Brenntag exhibits multifunctional CosVivet ActiLipid O7

Dr. Teresa Harding, senior director, strategic marketing and innovation, Beauty & Care, at Brenntag, shared insights on the company’s participation in the new sustainability zone at In-cosmetics and how sustainability is shaping the personal care industry. Brenntag introduced CosVivet ActiLipid O7, an omega-7 rich biolipid with multifunctional capabilities, developed using its patented fermentation technology. Harding also discussed the role of tradeshows, global partnerships, and pivotal market trends that influenced Brenntag’s innovation strategy.

So what inspired Brent Tag's participation in the new sustainability zone at In Cosmetics, and how do you see sustainability shaping the industry?

Rent's totally committed to offering sustainable products and innovations and so if you consider that new products, the vast majority of new products have either a sustainability or a social responsibility claim, this is what the consumers are asking for, and it's up to us to provide those offerings for people to have the choice to make, and we're very happy to do that.

And you are presenting a new product Cat Actilipid 07.

What makes it unique and how does it meet the demand for sustainability and efficacy?

Exactly embodies this choice element relating to the sustainability.

Claims.

So yes, it's unique because it has its own patented fermentation technology, but it's this multifunctional ability that allows the people to choose which of the benefits that it has so they can use depending on their product or the claim that they want to make.

And what role do trade shows like In Cosmetics play in Bretag's strategy, and how do you see them evolving?

Yeah, these trade shows, as you can hear, it's the life and soul of the industry, so it's a great place for connections, for ideation, for discussion, and for that we can use it to reinforce our strategy, but also decide if we need to adapt our strategy maybe a little bit more based on what we find.

And how does Bretag approach global partnerships while considering local trends and regulations?

There are many global trends and global products, so the global mega trends we can cover from a global perspective for sure, but it's super.

At the local level that we adapt to what the local consumers will need, so whether it be a local formulation adaptation or as you say, the regulation, we must check them locally and let the locals lead that part of the equation.

And what are the most pivotal trends in the personal care market today, and how do they influence Bretag's innovations and strategy?

We have the most wonderful market in the world.

There's so dynamic and a lot happening at the moment.

It's mainly health and wellness, so skin health, scalp health, skin micro.

But also this personalization.

So analysis of skin analysis, for example.

So you can decide what's the right choice of material for what you're going to apply to what area of the skin and different skin types.

It's a wonderful industry.
