Cosmetic Business 2024: Tubex showcases environmentally sustainable aluminum packaging for cosmetic applications
18 Jun 2024 | Tubex
Tubex launched two new versions of its 100% aluminum tubes, which it claims saves 95% of production energy and 70% of CO2. The company explains why the cosmetic packaging industry is highlighting sustainability more prominently to align with younger generations’ values and showcases its tubes made of recycled aluminum.
Very pleased to be joined by Suzanne Holzinger, group sales director with consumer goods at Tex.
Suzanne, very good to meet you here at Cosmetic Business in Munich.
Thank you.
Great to meet you too.
So far we've had a very good day, 2 days actually.
Very good conversation, so very pleased with affairs so far.
Excellent.
Now I understand you all specialize in aluminum tubing, and I'm also told by you and your colleagues that you are the pioneers in this area.
Can you please.
Elaborate for us if you will.
Absolutely.
So we're actually the first ones to launch a tube, an aluminum tube of 100% recycled aluminum.
We were the ones to invent it.
It was 5 years ago already, and it's amazing how time flies.
We have one version which is PIR and the other one is PCR.
It's 95% share of PCR.
And it's amazing, you know, aluminum as a material has so many amazing properties, and now with the recycled version, we're actually saving 95% of the energy that we need to produce it and 70% of CO2.
And sustainability is huge, right, especially in the personal care and beauty sector.
It seems to be what the clients are demanding, and of course it seems they're demanding it on behalf of the end consumer.
Yes, absolutely.
You can really see that with the change in generations, you know, everybody's always talking about the switch from millennials not going to Gen Z, then slowly going to Gen Alpha.
We can really.
Sustainability gains and gains and gains on traction, and of course we in the packaging have to react not just for marketing sales because of course that's part of why we do it, but also for the sake of the planet.
What's new and exciting for two bags?
Besides having all of our tubes made out of recycled aluminum, we also have two versions of our tubes that are 100% aluminum with no plastic at all.
We have the mono tube, which we invented for sampling sizes, travel sizes, small tube, you know, it's enough for like 5 applications, and it really gives the consumer a chance to try your product before he buys the big size.
So it's not just more convenient for the consumer.
Also good because then you really, it's the try before you buy it kind of principle, so you don't waste anything because you bought the big one and then you don't like it and you just just throw it away and that's really what we want to avoid.
All right, very, very smart, Suzanne Holzinger.
Thank you so much for your time today.
Thank you.
