Amyris brands are expanding to UK and EU beauty markets furthering revenue growth
12 Oct 2022 --- Amyris brands – Biossance, JVN Hair and Rose Inc – are debuting online with Sephora for the UK market later this month. In addition, Biossance and JVN will be available at the flagship brick-and-mortar store in London, opening in March 2023.

Along with some of the strongest growth across the beauty industry for our ingredients and consumer business, we are making great progress on lowering our costs,” says John Melo, President and CEO.

The expansion of Amyris’ brands in the UK is the latest step in its global partnership with Sephora, which further evidences Amyris’ expansion around the globe.
Amyris’ brands will also be available to purchase via their direct-to-consumer websites in the coming months. The company plans to expand its offering in the UK and Europe with additional brands and retail stores set to open next year.
Executing on continued accelerated growth and lower costs, Amyris is expanding with its Sephora UK launch.Consumers in the UK already enjoy access to Amyris consumer brands sold in Space NK, Selfridges, Harrods and Cult Beauty.
Accelerating world transition
Amyris aims to champion environmentally sustainable consumption through its proprietary “Lab-to-Market” technology platform and clean beauty consumer brands. This Amyris platform “leverages state-of-the-art machine learning, robotics and artificial intelligence, enabling the company to rapidly bring new innovation to market at commercial scale.”
In its 2022 ESG report, the company spotlighted developments in greening up the production of its chemistry solutions for the beauty and fragrances sector. These include producing squalene – an anti-inflammatory compound for skincare products – from sugarcane rather than sourcing it from sharks.
Amyris consumer brands, including Biossance and Pipette, have replaced non-recyclable materials used in bottles, tubes, caps and other packaging with recyclable materials, including post-consumer recycled plastics and bottles manufactured using sugarcane ethanol instead of petroleum-derived energy sources, the report outlines.
Gen Z in the spotlight
Amyris closed the purchase of EcoFabulous Cosmetics in February this year. The move was slated to further the company’s growth and increase its market presence for clean beauty among Gen Z consumers.
“Our consumer growth is accelerating due to the early success of our recently launched brands, Rose Inc and JVN, along with the continued momentum of Biossance, Pipette and Purecane,” Melo said.
