Beauty made accessible with tech innovations by Panasonic, Nuface and GLO24K
03 Aug 2022 --- The latest innovations in the beauty tech space include Panasonic’s hair dryer that employs “nanoe” technology and an oscillating quick-dry nozzle, a new LED light therapy for at-home use by GLO24K, and Nuface’s new FDA-cleared microcurrent system for blurring wrinkles.
The newly launched platforms evidence consistent demand for more ergonomic and home-based systems, which are increasingly in vogue among consumers who seek both convenience and efficacy in a nicely packaged format.
Hairstyling on the go made easier
Panasonic’s new travel-friendly hair dryer – branded EH-NA2C-W – is designed specifically for “salon-quality heat styling” while on the go.
The new prodcut comes in a compact, ergonomic design that makes it easier to hold and use. It can also be folded in half for hassle-free storage at home or to be packed for travel.
This hair dryer model draws moisture from the air using nanoe technology to create tiny, moisture-rich particles that are small enough to penetrate hair shafts. Compared to the general negative ions used by other hair dryers on the market, the EH-NA2C-W creates particles that are a “thousand times more” moisture-packed.
Patented by Panasonic, the extra moisture to the hair protects it from everyday damage while enhancing smoothness and suppressing static electricity.
The EH-NA2C-W, similar to the full-size hair dryer, is equipped with a quick-dry nozzle that delivers strong and soft airflows, automatically preventing hot spots and evenly distributing the nanoe technology for gentle hair drying.
“As more and more consumers embark on travels after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, combined with the consumer trend to downsize on space, there is demand among consumers for a compact, yet high-performing hair dryer,” Hanna Kushioka, Product Manager, Panasonic Personal Care tells PersonalCareInsights.
“The Panasonic nanoe Travel Hair Dryer (EH-NA2C-W) can satisfy this demand, especially as demands for our compact hair dryer remains strong and with the industry average selling price on hair dryers increasing over 5% CY20 vs CY21.”
LED light therapy brings out glow in complexion
NASA researchers working in zero gravity conditions previously discovered that LED light therapy stimulates and promotes processes within the cell level that are associated with collagen reproduction and skin rejuvenation.
Different wavelengths of LED lights penetrate the skin at different depths and trigger biological processes that help the skin rejuvenate, renew and heal.
In line with these findings, GLO24K’s Triple Action LED Eye Care Therapy Wand was designed specifically to minimize the visible signs of premature aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness and crow’s feet around the eyes.
This new ergonomically LED light therapy device incorporates three technologies: LED, Thermal and Vibration – all known for their anti-aging benefits and for promoting skin elasticity, cell renewal, and collagen reproduction to achieve radiant, glowing complexion, as the company highlights.
GLO24K Eye Care Wand is safe, non-invasive, rechargeable, easy to use, and for all skin types.
“We noticed a huge demand in the market for LED Beauty Devices and our research directed us to invest in LED Therapy for the eye area. Our Eye Care Wand is super-advanced and generates significant results,” remarks Eliad Shwartz, founder of GLO24K.
“Now, people don’t need to spend a lot of money going to the SPA for Eye Care LED Therapy.”
Nuface has introduced two FDA-cleared microcurrent devices for the skin, Mini+ and Trinity+. In line with these launches, Nuface has also introduced a new Bluetooth-enabled app.
This new platform connects with the devices to allow users to unlock exclusive advanced treatments targeting different layers of the skin – where conventional topical skincare has been unable to deliver both immediate and long-term results, according to the company.
According to Nuface, the Mini+ and Trinity+ series – which were developed over a span of four years – mark the brand’s “most significant tech advancement in 11 years.”
The Nuface app is free and acts as a “virtual aesthetician” to guide personalized, innovative microcurrent skincare regimens by centralizing clients’ microcurrent journeys in one place.
Paired via Bluetooth with the Mini+ or Trinity+ devices, the app unlocks 3-Depth microcurrent technology to create a customized treatment routine that is displayed step-by-step from start to finish.
Equipped with a selfie tracker to track progress immediately and over time, the app can be used to recreate professional treatments at home with a selection of tutorials.
The tutorials include “skin tightening,” which helps blur fine lines and wrinkles; “instant-lift,” which helps to instantly tone, lift and contour; and “pro-toning” which allows deep toning down to the muscle for longer-term results.
The new Mini+, available in three “Southern California-inspired sunset colors,” is designed to be petite, allowing users to carry the device on their travels conveniently.
The Trinity+ is marketed as being more sleek and powerful, with nickel-free spheres; an ergonomic hand-feel and shape; water-resistant, magnetic attachments; and inductive charging.
Beauty tech on the rise
Technological advancements continue to shape the beauty sector.
Recently, Swiss beauty-tech brand Réduit launched Réduit Boost, NASA powered smart technology to US markets that identifies active ingredients within skincare products and releases a unique waveform via pulsed electromagnetic field technology, pushing the components deeper into the skin where it is required.
Additionally, i-On Skincare unveiled i-On Age Disrupting Skin Emulsion and Perfect Corp.’s Skin Diagnostic Tool with the intent to inform consumers about skin health and skin aging.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) beauty specialist Perfect Corp. also released its Global Beauty Trend Report, which showcases the top 2022 hair color trends, delving into the popularity of virtual try-on.
