i-On Skincare unveils anti-aging emulsion and Perfect Corp. AI Skin Diagnostic Tool
23 May 2022 --- With the rising use of digital technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR), beauty tech brand i-On is showcasing i-On Age Disrupting Skin Emulsion and Perfect Corp.’s Skin Diagnostic Tool. The anti-aging emulsion targets the removal of excess iron on the skin’s surface to allow for focused repairing and rebuilding.
“In a clinical trial for i-On Age Disrupting Skin Emulsion, 100% of participants reported skin felt softer, smoother and more hydrated after two weeks,” shares the brand.
“The i-On Age Disrupting Skincare products are also free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, silicones, dyes, mineral oils, diethanolamine and triethanolamine (DEA/MEA), butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), gluten and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).”
With the Skin Diagnostic Tool, i-On intends to inform consumers about skin health and skin aging.
“You’re not aging. You’re rusting.”
i-On Skincare explains that biological aging is impacted by a buildup of excess iron on the skin’s surface. This is because iron is “most responsible” for forming oxygen free radicals that are known to cause visible aging signs.
These signs are noted to occur toward the end of menstruation.
“Powered by DII Technology and other key ingredients, i-On’s new Age Disrupting Skin Emulsion is a lightweight formula that easily absorbs into skin for a healthier, more supple and renewed appearance,” explains the brand.
“i-On Skincare’s patented DII Technology with vitamin C and pearl powder is the only cosmetic product on the market to remove excess iron from the skin’s surface, allowing the skin to focus on repairing and rebuilding.”
In a clinical trial, 97% reported that the skin looked and felt firmer and more elastic after four weeks, and 88% said fine lines and wrinkles had been noticeably diminished after six weeks, shares i-On Skincare.
“Iron overload as a result of the cessation of menstruation after menopause is possibly the most important underrecognized determinant of visible skin aging and photoaging,” stresses the brand, concluding that “you’re not aging. You’re rusting.”
The emulsion is ideal for those who prefer a lightweight moisturizer for the upcoming summer.
AI Skin Diagnostic Tool
The AI Skin Diagnostic Tool was developed by AR beauty try-on expert Perfect Corp. for informing consumers about skin health and skin aging.
“Consumers can scan a photo of their face to analyze spots, wrinkles, texture and dark circles,” explains the brand.
“The photo is then compared to Perfect Corp.’s extensive image database to determine individual skin health and provide a skin age.”
The link to the scanner can be accessed on the brand’s website.
i-On’s technical partnership with Perfect Corp. for this is hailed as a “natural step” for the brand as it continues to explore the correlation between biological aging – indicated by how cells function over time, demonstrated by skin’s appearance – and consumers’ lifestyles and routines.
“Our goal is to shift the conversation about how we think and talk about aging,” says Dr. Xi Huang, founder of i-On and a leading scientist on the impact of iron levels on health.
The technology wave
Efficient, precise and tech-enhanced beauty solutions are popping up in the virtual space, where FaceCake and Deka Lash Studios recently introduced an augmented retail solution for lash try-ons.
In other activities, personalized digital company Revieve designed an AI Makeup Advisor experience through a collaboration with its ongoing partner, cosmetic specialist Shiseido. The platform was created for clientele in the Europe Middle East and Africa region.
