Billie Eilish brings sultry monsoon with “darker and rainy” fragrance debut
21 Nov 2022 --- US pop-star and icon Billie Eilish is unveiling a fresh iteration of the original ‘Eilish’ fragrance, with notes of warmth and sweetness. The Bad Guy singer’s latest perfume will develop on the original fragrance to convey a feeling of “her sensual side and being drenched in these notes, worn to envelop the skin.”
“I really liked the idea of a darker, rainy world for Eilish No. 2. We started with the original ‘Eilish’ elements of warmth and sweetness, but then added spicy and woodsy elements for a more sultry and wet feeling,” says Eilish.
Eilish No. 2 conveys a smooth, alluring aroma that opens with the freshness of Italian bergamot and apple blossom, according to global beauty company Parlux, who partnered with the artist.
“It flows into a woody, earthy spiciness of papyrus and black pepper with a contrast of wild wet poppy flowers. Base notes of woody palo santo and ebony that are expertly wrapped in a metallic, nuanced veil of skin musk complete the experience,” the business explains.
The product will market at US$72 to North American customers and is vegan and cruelty-free (certified by PETA).
No. 2 is only available direct-to-consumer exclusively on the singer’s fragrance website.
Combining the senses
Eilish was inspired by her synesthesia at the time of creating the fragrance. Synesthesia is a neuropsychological trait in which, according to the encyclopedia Britannica, the stimulation of one sense causes the automatic experience of another sense, and affects from 2% to 5% of the general population.
“Billie was guided by her synesthesia, which involves all her senses to visualize and see the color, texture, shape and what number her second act fragrance represents,” explains the business.
“Billie knew exactly what she wanted to create; a wet, rainy, sultry, woody floral scent called Eilish No.2,” says Lori Singer, president of Parlux.
The company explains how the chronology and shape of the number two inspired the name and created a link between the shape of the written number “2” and the “sensual curves” of the bottle and imagery.
“The design of the bottle, as the original, is inspired by Billie’s favorite parts of the body – the chest, neck and décolleté, with this rendition articulated in a dark, metallic gray slate,” elucidates the business.
Eilish has released two albums, with its sophomore album, Happier than ever, debuting at #1 in the Billboard 200 in the US and staying at number one for three weeks.
Billie Eilish’s first studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was one of the best-selling albums of 2019, and she has received several accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, one Guinness World Record, three MTV Video Music Awards, and two Brit Awards.
Celebrities aromatize perfume market
