Billie Eilish introduces signature perfume fragrance
11 Nov 2021 --- US teenage popstar Billie Eilish is debuting her fragrance, aptly named Eilish, and branded as a “warm and fuzzy” Amber Gourmand scent. The vegan fragrance opens with sugared petals accented by juicy mandarin and red berries and unfolds with soft spices, rich cocoa and creamy vanilla.
Eilish is anchored by base notes of warm musks, tonka bean and sleek woods.
The 19-year-old singer-songwriter posed for a montage of promotional photographs for this debut fragrance line which is made with clean ingredients.
In a promotional video, she mimics the shape of the bottle and speaks of evoking warmth and sensuality. The musician’s favorite body parts inspire the bottle: the chest, neck, and collarbone and are gilded in beautiful amber bronze.
Long time in the making
“I wanted it to feel like a warm embrace. It’s a scent that I’ve been chasing for years and years. It’s my favorite smell in the world,” says Billie Eilish, who partnered with global beauty company Parlux on her debut scent.
Billie Eilish’s first studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was one of the best-selling albums of 2019, and she has received several accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, one Guinness World Record, three MTV Video Music Awards, and two Brit Awards.
Her sophomore album, Happier Than Ever, debuted at #1 in the Billboard 200 in the US.
Parlux partnership
Eilish is only available direct-to-consumer exclusively at BillieEilishFragrances.com.
“One of the most important parts of our partnership was making sure Billie was able to debut her signature fragrance through her own channels, on her own terms, to continue to connect directly with her fans,” says Lori Singer, president, Parlux.
“Parlux worked closely with Billie to make sure every step of the process aligned with her vision, which included the fans being able to get the scent directly from her. After many months of a unique remote development process, we can introduce Eilish to the world,” she says.
Fragrance innovation
The fragrance industry is making strides this year with innovative NPD.
Earlier this week, Firmenich expanded its positioning in the Middle East with a US$51M perfumery production hub in Turkey. In the same week, Givaudan unveiled its Z-biome Platform, hailed as “the first microbiome-centered fragrance technologies in the industry.”
In other fragrance news, Symrise has recently updated its perfumers’ compendium to easily incorporate symbols to pinpoint fragrance ingredients from renewable raw materials.
And, last week designer fragrances Tom Ford Beauty and Jo Malone London were key drivers behind growth at The Estée Lauder Companies.
