Edgewell debuts Fieldtrip with socially responsible skincare targeting Gen-Z
06 Jun 2022 --- Edgewell Personal Care is introducing its skincare brand Feildtrip, created for Gen-Zers who pair consumption with social responsibility. The Feildtrip debut also comes with seven products for an inclusive skincare routine.
“Gen-Z consumers expect more than just functional benefits. They seek out socially responsible and sustainable brands, offer clean formulations that perform as advertised, and are transparent throughout,” says Gabrielle DeLatin, head of marketing for grooming at Edgewell.
“This way of thinking aligned with our values and inspired Fieldtrip’s launch.”
The brand is marketed as offering unisex, clean and luxury-formulated products at affordable prices.
Environmental efforts
Fieldtrip has partnered with the Keep America Beautiful Retreet program that replants lost trees due to natural catastrophes. The partnership deal requires Feildtrip to donate 5% of net proceeds to the program each year.
Its slogan, “Your Earth, Your Skincare,” inspired the cruelty-free and vegan formulas.
Additionally, the brand uses a minimalist approach that excludes silicones, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, chemical sunscreens, retinyl palmitate, synthetic fragrances, artificial dyes, formaldehyde, triclosan, triclocarban, petrolatum, mineral oil, talc, hydroquinone, BHA and BHT.
Its packaging is made of bio-based polyethylene, renewable items, post-consumer recycled materials, light-weighted caps, and recyclable glass when applicable.
The brand is also certified by PET’s “Beauty Without Bunnies” program.
Environmentally sustainable sourcing
Fieldtrip products also contain natural ingredients from around the world. The global ingredient reach is meant to signify stories of sustainable sourcing. The hero ingredient per product is featured on colorful maps to show where they were sourced.
The Fresh Start Purifying Face Cleanser highlights glacial clay harvested off the coast of Kisameet Bay, British Columbia, Canada. The Eyeland Retreat Cooling Eye Gel contains red maple bark also upcycled from Canada.
The India-sourced wild indigo is featured in the Into The Blue Stress Less Moisturizer.
Trail Blazer Anywhere Shave Lotion comes with birch sap extracted from care from organically grown white birch trees in Northern Europe.
Moringa butter from the Himalayan foothills of Southeast Asia is found in the Overnight Trip Hydrating Lip Mask. The Wandermist Hydrating Facial Spray comes with rambutan peel extract, also upcycled from Southeast Asia.
Lastly, Camu Camu is extracted from the Amazon rainforest and included in C The World Brightening Serum.
