HydraFacial and Epicutis collaborate on tech and serum solution for neck and décolleté
24 Sep 2021 --- Beauty tech company HydraFacial is collaborating with Epicutis to launch a professional, medical-grade skincare line that treats the neck and décolleté to prevent signs of aging.
“Although the neck and décolleté is commonly the first area that consumers see aging, this area of the body has been largely ignored by skincare companies, with few products and esthetic procedures available,” Epicutis CEO, Maxwell Stock, tells PersonalCareInsights.
“Also, there has not been novel technology applied to this type of product, as the neck and décolleté skin is different in that it is less porous and absorbent, requiring specific formulations to aid in the delivery of actives.”
Smoother skin
Epicutis’ Neck & Décoletté Booster has been designed for consumers seeking to visibly revitalize the neckline and achieve smoother-looking skin.
Epicutis supports that the product is clinically proven to reduce the wrinkled appearance of the face and neck, combat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote maximum skin hydration.
Epicutis products are formulated exclusively with non-toxic, high-quality, patented active ingredients with the goal of attaining and maintaining healthy skin from the inside out.
“The formulations used for the neck and décolleté require ingredients that assist in driving in the actives due to the decrease in permeability,” says Stock.
“We share the same clean, holistic approach to skin health with HydraFacial and our booster serum will only enhance the benefits of its technology.”
Medical-grade tech
The HydraFacial system merges spa therapies with medical technology, offering personalized skin solutions.
According to the company, it is the only device that uses patented Vortex-Fusion technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate.
HydraFacial boosters allow patients to tailor their treatment with serums to address specific skin concerns.
“Through our partnership with Epicutis, we’re expanding our portfolio of customized treatment solutions,” says Clint Carnell, CEO of The HydraFacial Company.
“This booster is a first-of-its-kind and will allow us to offer HydraFacial customers the latest formulation advancements to help target an often overlooked area of the skin.”
Increasing permeability
According to Stock, the body as a whole needs specific formulations and novel ingredient technologies for the same difference in permeability of the face.
“Epicutis is currently developing products to address these unmet needs. We have two new products coming out shortly, a lipid recovery mask and a neck and décolleté mask.”
The lipid recovery mask is most useful for pre- and post-procedure applications, preparing the skin as well as addressing the irritation associated with various esthetic procedures.
“This allows for improved outcomes as well as less downtime. The neck and décolleté mask was specifically designed as an add-on to the recently launched Epicutis/HydraFacial neck and Décolleté booster serum, ensuring the best results possible.
“Of course, the neck and décolleté mask can be used by itself for tightening and firming that area,” Stock concludes.
Anti-aging skincare boom
In the same space, Dermala recently received a US patent for solutions that utilize the skin and the gut microbiome to slow down the skin aging process. The company’s technology uses microbiome formulations and delivery methods to restore biologically “younger” skin and gut microbiomes in older adults.
Meanwhile, Vichy Laboratoires launched Minéral 89 Prebiotic Recovery & Defense Concentrate, within its Minéral 89 product collection, formulated with prebiotics to fight visible signs of aging brought on by stress.
Givaudan Active Beauty unveiled an active botanical ingredient, coined Sericoside, that restores skin to its best version and promotes healthy aging through cellular reprogramming.
