L’Oréal puts social commerce first with Dr.G US launch on TikTok Shop
Key takeaways
- L’Oréal has launched the Korean skin care brand Dr.G on TikTok Shop in the US.
- The storefront offers seven products and five exclusive bundles, backed by a US marketing campaign.
- The launch puts social commerce ahead of traditional brick-and-mortar retail.

Dr.G has landed on TikTok Shop, accelerating the brand’s US expansion.
The launch follows L’Oréal’s acquisition of Dr.G in 2024 and comes as the company continues to invest in the growing K-beauty category globally. According to the brand, global K-beauty value sales are up 53% year-over-year.
The Korean skin care brand believes the move marks an important next step in its global growth, which it plans to continue. The US is named as one of the first key markets in Dr.G’s international expansion. The brand says demand for ingredient-led innovation and high-performance skin care is on the rise in the country, creating space for its clinic-inspired formulas to a broader US audience.
Tina Fair, president, North America for L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division, says: “Our ambition is to bring Korea’s most popular skin care brand, Dr.G, to every K-beauty consumer in America.”
TikTok Shop storefront debut
Dr.G says the TikTok Shop storefront debut gives consumers a new way to discover and shop the brand while building greater awareness in the US market.
“Our continued expansion on TikTok Shop in the US is an exciting new chapter for Dr.G — connecting our Korean dermatological heritage and science-driven approach with a new generation of consumers who are discovering, learning, and shopping for skin care in entirely new ways,” says Dr. Gun-Young Ahn, founder of Dr.G.
Dr.G offers seven products and five exclusive bundles on TikTok Shop.
The brand will offer seven products, including best-selling formulas from the RED and Black Snail collections. Five TikTok Shop-exclusive bundles will also be available with the launch.
Dr.G’s TikTok Shop launch will be supported by a 360-degree US marketing campaign spanning social content, creator partnerships, out-of-home advertising, influencer activations, and launch events in New York and Los Angeles.
Social commerce first
Dr.G’s US debut marks a departure from how L’Oréal has typically scaled its acquired brands. Major beauty rollouts have traditionally relied on placement at specialty retailers such as Sephora and Ulta Beauty, celebrity endorsements, large-scale advertising on Meta and Google, and international expansion through retail distribution.
With Dr.G, L’Oréal is leading with social commerce instead, putting the brand on TikTok Shop and Amazon ahead of any wider US brick-and-mortar rollout.
The move sends a signal to other beauty brands with retail ambitions that TikTok Shop has moved beyond a supplementary sales channel and turned into a credible launchpad.
The legitimacy of TikTok Shop has been further solidified by Sephora and Ulta Beauty recently landing on the platform.
