Mibelle Biochemistry extracts anti-aging “longevity molecule” from sunflower sprouts for skin cell NAD+ boost
07 Nov 2023 --- Cosmetic ingredients supplier Mibelle Biochemistry has unveiled RejuveNAD, a solution for stabilizing NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a molecule that plays a pivotal role in various cellular processes.
NAD+ has garnered attention in the realm of anti-aging supplements. However, incorporating NAD+ into cosmetics has been a persistent challenge due to its inherent instability in formulations and difficulty penetrating skin cells.
However, Mibelle Biochemistry says RejuveNAD can holistically enhance skin care and anti-aging regimens.
Youthful skin in 42 days
RejuveNAD raises levels of NAD+ to enhance the longevity of skin cells. By activating the enzyme NAMPT, RejuveNAD stimulates the endogenous regeneration of NAD+.
Clinical studies have demonstrated its ability to counteract at least five “hallmarks of aging” in the skin simultaneously. These include mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular senescence, loss of proteostasis, epigenetic alteration and genomic instability.
Moreover, the skin appears up to eight years younger in as little as 42 days, shares Mibelle Biochemistry.
Reducing DNA damage
In vitro, RejuveNAD was also recorded to reduce DNA damage, epigenetic alterations and senescence and increase ATP levels (energizing effect) and cell viability.
Ex vivo studies find that RejuveNAD reduces mitochondrial damage while increasing sirtuin 1 levels (inflammation protection), collagen XVII levels and collagen density.
Furthermore, in vivo, testing shows the ingredient reduces age spots and increases skin smoothness and wrinkle depth while providing smooth skin and a younger skin effect.
Mibelle Biochemistry maintains that its supply chain for RejuveNAD is sustainable. The ingredient is sourced from sunflower sprouts cultivated through indoor farming.
Mibelle Biochemistry developments ‘23
