Perfect Corp. expands beauty tech: “Hyper-realistic” virtual jewelry try-on
20 Apr 2022 --- Perfect Corp., a virtual try-on makeup and fashion provider, advances personalization and hygiene by providing brands with opportunities to popularize its fine jewelry to be virtually trialed. The 3D Augmented Reality (AR) virtual try-on solution for earrings allows consumers to experiment with earrings in 13 positions across the ear.
"The latest enhancement to the AR earring solution allows customers to visualize jewelry, allowing consumers to visualize different styles and find their perfect look. This capability is the latest addition to Perfect Corp.’s suite of AI and AR fashion tech solutions, which currently includes virtual try-on technology for rings, bracelets, watches, eyewear, and accessories," Alice Chang, CEO and Founder at Perfect Corp. tells, PersonalCareInsights.
The simulation is described as “hyper-realistic” powered by its AgileFace proprietary technology, featuring highly-accurate detection of users’ faces so consumers can make the most accurate and personalized purchasing decision.
AgileFace technology also enhances the realistic feel of the earring by predicting the movement of the jewelry with facial movement.
Chang states: “Our solution leverages advanced Physically Based Rendering technology, which ensures hyper-realistic earring renderings with precise detail and finish. Moreover, through our AgileFace technology, users can see true-to-life movement of the jewelry elements from various viewing angles. As a result, customers using the virtual try-on technology will have an accurate representation of the jewelry that they are interested in buying.”
“As the fashion industry embraces digital transformation, virtual product try-on is becoming essential to connect with consumers and build personalized shopping journeys,” continues Chang.
“As virtual try-on technology becomes an essential component of the retail journey, Perfect Corp. will continue to expand its solution offerings to support new categories and products.”
“Users can mix and match ear accessories in several placements on the ear lobe and along the helix in real-time,” says the company.
Potential for personalization
The 3D AR virtual try-on solution for earrings is highly accessible from laptops or mobile devices. Jewelry brands can create realistic designs, which can then be trialed by anyone possessing smart technology.
Perfect Corp. suggests that fine jewelry brands can leverage virtual technology for personalization strategies. The 3D AR virtual try-on solution allows consumers to see the effects of an earring look from various angles.
Chang suggests: “The company’s innovative technology for earrings can also be integrated with virtual try-on for makeup, allowing customers to see full looks combining makeup and accessories in the virtual try-on experience.”
“Perfect Corp. is the only beauty and fashion tech solutions provider that can deliver jewelry and accessory virtual try-on combined with makeup virtual try-on. This dynamic virtual try-on experience provides an engaging shopping interaction that helps consumers clearly visualize products and make more confident purchasing decisions.”
“The solution can also be easily integrated across key touchpoints in the omnichannel shopping journey, from desktop and mobile web browsers to in-store smart beauty mirrors and eCommerce platforms,” says Perfect Corp.
“This advanced extended AR solution will offer fine jewelry brands a multi-faceted way to engage and personalize the earring shopping experience along the omnichannel journey,” adds Chang.
“Perfect Corp.’s AR virtual try-on solution for jewelry provides customers with the flexibility to try on earrings and ear jewelry at their leisure, whether they choose to do this from the comfort of their homes or in-store.”
The new solution falls under Perfect Corp.s existing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AR fashion tech solutions portfolio.
Digital beauty moves
Perfect Corp. previously launched NFT (Non-Fungible Token) services to allow consumers and beauty brands to interact with NFTs and help them create personalized AR try-on NFTs. This results in unique and enhanced beauty filters for an immersive experience.
In further innovations for personalized and contactless beauty, Perfect Corp. partnered with MAC to offer consumers to easily access MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid Foundation to be picked and virtually tried on.
