Potent pomegranates: Active Concepts debuts polyphenol-rich skin care ingredient

27 Jun 2023 --- Personal care ingredients supplier Active Concepts has unveiled its latest polyphenols-containing skin care ingredient, crafted using pomegranate extract. Minimizing fruit waste from the supply chain, the solution maximizes the extraction of rich pomegranate polyphenols.

The product is branded AC PomeaShield (Water & Punica Granatum Fruit Extract & Lactobacillus Ferment).

The company notes consumers of all ages, especially the environmentally conscious Gen Z and Millennials, are increasingly prioritizing personal, social and environmental values in their purchasing decisions.

Potent pomegranate antioxidant activity
Pomegranates have been revered for centuries for their medicinal and beauty benefits, symbolizing prosperity and abundance. They are widely recognized as a superfood, offering various health and skin care advantages due to their nutrient-rich profile.

AC PomeaShield is formulated to target and neutralize reactive oxygen species – free radicals – the culprits behind premature aging. Its potent antioxidant properties act as a shield, safeguarding the skin from oxidative stress and promoting a youthful and radiant complexion.

The ingredient also helps to combat cellular aging by addressing senescent cells, notes its manufacturer. By employing polyphenols, this technology effectively delays the onset of cellular aging, ensuring that your skin remains vibrant and rejuvenated.

Resetting the skin clock
According to Innova Market Insights data, in 2022, the top global personal care product launch category tracked with aging well claims was Skin Care (38%).

Among recent highlights targeting healthy skin aging, Seppic unveiled Sagacious. The biomimetic and eco-designed active ingredient restores skin firmness. The solution is said to offer anti-aging and anti-sagging benefits.
