M&S adds Sephora to 100 UK stores in beauty push
Key takeaways
- M&S will open Sephora shop-in-shops in 100 UK stores and online from spring 2027.
- The partnership pairs Sephora’s prestige expertise with M&S’s national store and digital reach.
- Sephora sees the deal as the next step in its UK expansion.

Marks & Spencer (M&S) has announced it will host Sephora as a beauty destination in selected stores and on its website starting in spring 2027. M&S will bring Sephora to 100 high streets and retail parks across the UK.
The beauty retailers will combine Sephora’s beauty expertise, brand relationships, and focus on discovery with M&S’s brand, national presence, and omnichannel platform. They aim to make a specialist beauty experience accessible to more customers in more places.
“Beauty is an important category for M&S… Our partnership with Sephora will sit at the heart of our future beauty offer, combining Sephora’s specialist expertise with the strength of the M&S brand, our store estate and our growing digital platform,” says John Lyttle, managing director, Fashion, Home & Beauty at M&S.
The shop-in-shop retail model will give customers access to curated brands, expert advice, and the beauty discovery experience Sephora is known for, according to M&S.
Prestige meets high street
Shoppers can expect a curated mix of established beauty favorites, emerging brands, and exclusive products across skin care, makeup, fragrance, hair care, and body care. The new beauty offerings hope to attract new customers and give existing customers more reasons to shop with M&S more often.
Catherine Spindler, president of Europe & Middle East, Sephora, says: “By combining our global expertise in prestige beauty with M&S’s established retail infrastructure, we are creating a more diversified and scalable model for growth, while continuing to evolve the way customers can access the Sephora experience.”
John Lyttle says Sephora will anchor M&S’s future beauty offer.
Specialist beauty teams will support customers in stores while M&S’s website will offer a broader online range with home delivery and Click & Collect from M&S stores nationwide.
“We’re transforming Fashion, Home and Beauty at M&S… and building a more efficient, more profitable business. Our new partnership with Sephora is the next step in this transformation,” says Lyttle.
The final brand line-up will be confirmed closer to launch, alongside details of new-to-M&S names and selected Sephora exclusives.
“Alongside [the partnership,] we will continue investing in our own-label beauty categories where we have established strength and customer trust,” Lyttle adds.
Sephora UK ambitions
For Sephora, the partnership marks the next step in its UK growth strategy, extending its beauty experience into more spaces.
“Our UK launch has been such a huge success that we wanted to go further and faster. Our partnership with M&S is the next evolution of this strategy, introducing a retail model that complements our existing formats and allows us to build on the strength of the Sephora brand in the UK,” says Spindler.
M&S reports that the UK beauty market is worth £5.2 billion (US$6.9 billion) and grew 1.2% year-on-year in the 52 weeks to 19 July 2026. On a 12-week basis (to 19 July 26), M&S’s share of the beauty market was 1.3%.

Sarah Boyd, managing director, Sephora UK, says: “Since bursting onto the scene in the UK, we have always believed that becoming part of the communities we serve means more than simply opening stores and having a great online experience.”
She says the chain has taken a deliberately local approach to every city it enters. “This personalization has been a huge part of our success thus far.”
In another expansion, earlier this month, Sephora announced its entrance on TikTok Shop in the US. It revealed a shopping experience called the Sephora Drop Shop, where users can discover and buy curated products without leaving the app. The move came as beauty consumers are using social media platforms as direct shopping destinations.
