TNT Group creates refillable glass skin care packaging for Darphin
TNT Group has equipped French skin care brand Darphin with two refillable glass containers for its Stimulskin Plus collection, featuring a sculpting cream and serum.
Each container features a gold cage-like structure made from zamak. TNT Group says that the shape and angle of the containers were structured to avoid problems, such as those arising from pressure during the injection of zamak — a zinc-based alloy.
A “threaded collar system” holds the replaceable glass cream and serum jar in the cage-like structure.
The personal care packaging company says: “TNT Group combined the complementary skills of its engineers and technicians to bring this original project to life. The development required perfect harmony between the two reusable structures, ensuring consistency in design and volume. The team successfully overcame challenges in both design and industrialization.”
“The harmony of the golden tones across the various components of each package has been maintained.”
TNT Group designs and develops primary and secondary metal and glass packaging for the fragrance, makeup, and skin care industries. It operates in Hong Kong, New York, Paris, and Shanghai.
Crafting luxury packaging
Recently, Packaging Insights spoke to Virginie Pellé, the secondary packaging division director at TNT Group, about the materials the company uses to craft luxury packaging, such as wood.
She told us: “Wood conveys a sense of authenticity and heritage, aligning with the timeless nature often associated with luxury fragrances. The tactile warmth and substantial feel elevate the unboxing experience, signaling quality and craftsmanship.”
TNT Group designed a wood case to protect and house France-based L’Artisan Parfumeur’s latest perfume. This Cuir Grenat bottle is wrapped in 24-carat gold leaf foil.
