Univar Solutions brings next-gen green tech to US beauty market via ImDerma partnership

19 Dec 2023 --- Global specialty ingredients and chemicals provider Univar Solutions enters an exclusive distribution agreement with ImDerma Laboratories, a Taiwan-based cosmetic actives producer. 

The collaboration aims to boost the beauty and personal care ingredients portfolio, offering innovative functional actives to beauty brands and manufacturers in the US.

“Today, beauty brands can differentiate themselves in the market by providing products that contain unique cosmetic actives, which bring many benefits to consumers, such as anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, skin brightening and lightening properties. The addition of the ImDerma product line to our portfolio will allow beauty brands to access novel technologies while simultaneously accelerating the industry’s shift toward sustainable solutions.”

Univar Solutions collaborates with suppliers like ImDerma to offer ingredients, concept formulas and technical expertise. The agreement focuses on supporting applications in skin care, sun care and color cosmetics, leveraging sustainably sourced botanicals with green extraction technology. ImDerma focuses on dermal and analytic science for ingredient innovation.

ImDerma’s product line, including the Imdermalab Peptide X and MolecuPure, purified botanical actives series, will enhance Univar Solutions’ portfolio, contributing to the industry shift toward sustainable solutions.

The partnership supports the development of innovative beauty and personal care formulations. ImDerma’s focus on dermal and analytic science brings exclusive green extraction technology with high purity and no irritants to the forefront.

In August, Univar Solutions México was appointed as the exclusive distributor for dsm-firmenich in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Boosting the region’s access to dsm-firmenich’s personal care ingredients and fragrance solutions, next to its nutrients and flavors.

Previously, Univar Solutions and Croda partnered in a distribution agreement to expand the mineral sunscreen product selection in Brazil and bolster the Solaveil, Infraveil and Optisol product ranges.
