Vitality Institute has debuted a professional-grade chemical peel, VI Peel Precision + Peptides. The launch builds on the company’s former treatment portfolio, which utilizes clinically-backed, skin-correcting formulas.
The brand says that, unlike traditional treatments, the chemical peel works at a cellular level. It goes beyond the skin’s surface to target hyperpigmentation, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma, and UV damage, while restoring skin function and skin-barrier health.
Meanwhile, the brand claims the VI Peel Precision + Peptides is safe, pain-free, and effective across all skin types and tones.
“Innovation is our legacy — and as a woman of color, it’s personal,” says Marya Khalil-Otto, president and CEO of Vitality Institute.
“Precision + Peptides is the evolution of our commitment to real, science-backed results for every skin tone and type.”
The innovation comes at a pivotal moment in the aesthetics industry, as consumers increasingly seek noninvasive treatments that combine efficacy, long-term results, and minimal downtime.
Updated formulation
The pigment-correcting formula is driven by a science-backed combination of “smart peptide technology,” a retinoid accelerator, and antioxidant brighteners. Together, the components regulate and suppress melanin formation to reduce pigmentation and restore skin function from within.
VI Peel’s original formula has been enhanced with proprietary peptides for added efficiency.
The MelanoCalm peptide regulates melanin, fades dark spots, and promotes healing, while the SkinBoost peptide calms inflammation and strengthens the skin barrier.
The pigment-targeting formula is driven by innovative peptide technology. The retinoid accelerator, hydroxypinacolone retinoate, is bioavailable and binds directly to skin receptors to improve tone, texture, and cell turnover. Unlike traditional retinoids, it is non-irritating, making it suitable for sensitive skin types.
Meanwhile, the peel’s antioxidant brighteners, hexylresorcinol, kojic acid, and vitamin C, work to reduce dark spots and pigmentation, boost glutathione, and restore skin radiance.
The brand says that users can obtain noticeable results in skin pigmentation levels after they undergo three chemical peel treatments.
Over 7,000 clinicians, practitioners, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medical partners, such as the Mayo Clinic and Cedars Sinai in the US, currently use Vitality Institute products.
Cellular skin advancements
Innovations in the aesthetics sector continue to evolve as consumers increasingly seek non-invasive, efficiency-driven treatments. Skin care brands and aesthetic companies recognize that promoting skin health at the cellular, or dermis level, delivers anti-aging benefits and promotes long-term skin health.
Personal Care Insights has followed recent developments and tech-driven innovations within the category. We previously spoke to Debbie Thomas, a skin and laser expert and founder of D. Thomas Clinic, a UK-based skin care clinic, about the latest innovation in laser technology, LaseMD Ultra, aimed at combating rising “inflammaging” concerns.
The clinic claims the treatment strengthens and supports the skin’s natural regenerative process, delivering noticeable results by creating precise microchannels deep within the skin. The treatment involves minimal recovery time and discomfort.
Additionally, skin care brands continue to utilize biopeptides in product launches to deliver targeted skin benefits. More recently, US cosmetic actives specialist Evolved by Nature collaborated with the French skin care company Doré to introduce two products: the Peptides Bouclier Intégral Barrier Boost essence and Peptides Extreme Fermeté collagen firming serum. The launch aligns with consumer demand for non-invasive treatments with science-led results and minimal downtime.
Through cross-industry collaboration, they aim to promote skin care that prioritizes science-led skin health.
In other aesthetic news, the “liquid facelift” provides an alternative to invasive surgical procedures with extended recovery periods. According to a cosmetic surgeon, the aesthetic trend is gaining popularity due to social media and modern-day celebrity culture.
He said treatments such as HarmonyCATM offer a “lifted look” alongside long-term skin rejuvenation. It combines hyaluronic acid for immediate lift, calcium hydroxyapatite to stimulate long-term collagen and elastin production to improve skin firmness.
