Beiersdorf reported that it has completed the third quarter of 2021 with strong sales improvement. Organic sales grew by 12.0% to €5.8 billion in the first nine months of the year (single Q3 organic growth of 4.3%) exceeding the pre-COVID-19 level of 2019. Beiersdorf succeeded in gaining market shares around the globe, especially in emerging markets such as Latin America. This development was driven by a focus on digital channels and several product launches. Beiersdorf recorded strong e-commerce sales growth of 38% in the Consumer Business Segment across all brands and regions in the first nine months of the fiscal year and will continue to invest in building on digital initiatives and capabilities.
Shiseido’s new research facility Shiseido China Innovation Center Shanghai Fengxian Branch officially started its research activities on October 27, 2021. The facility is aiming at collaborating with companies and institutes located in the health and beauty industry hub “The Oriental Beauty Valley.” The new research facility has been established to “accelerate innovation through external collaborations”, one of the key strategies under medium-to-long-term Strategy “WIN 2023”, in China. The facility will focus on developing cosmetics technologies and utility evaluation methods, as well as exploring new beauty fields beyond cosmetics, contributing to the growth of Shiseido Group.
Lifestyle retail website Azadea announced an online partnership with Italian makeup and cosmetics brand, Kiko Milano. Launching the multi-national Italian brand across the MENA region aims to accelerate its growth by reaching consumers in the Middle East and Africa. With stores currently operating in 14 malls across the UAE, the all-new digital partnership commits to expanding the brand’s online presence by adapting to an evolving worldwide digital landscape. Kiko Milano, which has over 770 stores in 15 countries, has united with Azadea.com to align its efforts to create compelling shopping experiences and enhanced interaction with the 1400 quality products the brand currently offers.
