Sabrina Paltian, Application Technologies team lead at Berg+Schmidt Care Ingredients, spoke to us about how “skinification” is reshaping hair care innovation at In-cosmetics Global 2026. Consumers are increasingly treating scalp and hair health like they do skin care. The company is responding by launching its BergaCare range, aiming to move beyond superficial repair toward science-backed, functional restoration.

So jumping straight into it, you're presenting a holistic haircare ingredient range featuring Bergacare Relight that improves manageability and reduces combing force.
Can you please tell me More about your recent launches and their hair care applications.
Yes, of course.
So this year we present some new products when it comes to the haircare launch.
So we have, as you can see behind, we have the Vegacare Relite, which is really good for combing reducers.
We also have a section for the Vegacare Sea Shine products which are fit.
The glossy hair and we have the ceramides which are really good when it comes to putting out the water from the hair and protect them for water or humidity.
All right.
And given your texture and sensory compass tool and formulation support resources, how are you enabling formulators to accelerate texture driven product concepts aligned with consumer sensory experiences?
Expectations.
Yes, so the textures and sensory compass, it was a launched last year.
It was a full concept launch, so we give our customers the opportunity to be more fast into the market because all the developers or formulators can just have a look at our compass, can use our examples.
So we did a lot of work.
We really All the formulations when it comes to viscosity, sizes, sizes, and sensory.
So our customers just can take one of them examples, go to their customers, and then they change some ingredients and that's done, so much easier and faster.

And finally, Across your portfolio from natural surfactants and emulsifiers to UV filters and smart lipids, which ingredient trends are gaining the most traction with brand partners right now?
Yeah, in this moment, it's really going to hair care, so everyone is interested in the Bega Care Welight and also in our Bega Care Sunshine products, so it's made for shininess on the hair.
And as I also saw on the in cosmetics yesterday, really hair care becomes a bigger trend.
Also glycolic acid is everywhere around, so I think we've really fit the trend.
We are on time and yeah, this is also what we are talking about this year.
