In-cosmetics Global 2026: Provital launches Intensilk for body care longevity

At In-cosmetics Global 2026, Hagen Döring, area sales manager at Provital, told us about the launch of Intensilk, an ingredient designed for body care longevity. Targeting cellulite, Intensilk mimics a caloric deficit by reprogramming adipocytes to shift from fat storage to fat usage. Made from apple flowers, it offers a science-backed approach and is aligned for use in “sophisticated” body care, according to Döring.
This is Ella Ja Janell from Personal Care Insights at In Cosmetics Global 2026, joined by Hagen Doering, the area sales manager for Provital.
So getting straight into it, can you please tell us a little bit about what you're showcasing today?
Of course, with pleasure.
Of course you know that longevity is a big, big trend around the globe.
But so far it has been limited to face care products only, but the face makes up less than 5% of our skin.
So we were wondering what about the rest of our body?
Is it excluded from longevity benefits?
Hey, at Provital we said we need something that we introduced to the market, body care, a combination of body care and longevity, and the result is that we have launched intense silk.
And can you tell me a little bit more about the concept of intense silk?
Yes, as you know, besides longevity, another big topic right now around the globe is Ozempic treatments, so weight loss concepts.
With intense silk, what we are doing is we are restricting the caloric uptake into adipocytes, and this is one of the hallmarks of aging.
By blocking the glucose transporter, we reprogram the adipocyte from storing fat into using fat.
And this way we start a whole cascade of processes inside of the cell.
And we have performed a wonderful transcriptomic and a very thorough proteomic study to prove the concept of intense silk.
And can you tell me a little bit more about the benefits for the consumer?
The simple answer would be that we have a very strong effect on cellulite and lipid reduction, but intense silk is so much more than that.
It has a firming effect.
We improve elasticity.
It has Effect on the extracellular matrix.
We are remodeling the extracellular matrix and also we have a very, very strong anti-inflammatory effect.
So it is really a very holistic approach for body care 2.0 if you want, or as one of my customers said, it's a very nice approach for skin health or skin fitness.
OK.
And what is intense silk made of?
It is made of apple flowers, and they are standardized or intern silk is standardized in fluorescin, which in fact is the stopper for the glucose to enter into adipocytes.

And what cosmetic formulations is this product slash ingredient applicable for?
I suggest to use it in any body care with a sophisticated approach.
Maybe you can even think of a body night care concept because as we all know, the skin really recovers during the night, not during the day.
And my final question is, can you tell me a little bit more about the sustainability elements of this ingredient?
Sure, that's an important.
Issue for Provital every time we launch a new ingredient, and in this case it's the apple flowers.
They are coming from a sustainable farming which is really close to our factory, so it is locally sourced.
It is cosmos compliant, and it is also free of listed preservatives.
