Cosmetic Business 2025: Provital addresses adult acne with Triplebiome biotech

07 Jul 2025 | Provital

We speak to Hagen Döering, sales manager at Provital, about Purebloom, designed to fight adult acne in women. The development incorporates Provital’s Triplebiome, a biotech platform that uses plant endophytes as a sustainable and effective source to produce new natural active ingredients. The cosmetic ingredient company talks about the prevalent, but less discussed, issue of adult acne at Cosmetic Business 2025

This is Sabina Waldeck for Personal Care Insights joined by Hagen Doring, sales manager of Provital.

Welcome.

So your new active pure bloom is based on the triple biome technology.

Can you explain this technology?

Yes, with pleasure.

The Triple Beyond technology is a brand new technology to produce active ingredients in a sustainable way.

The result will be lab grown ingredients, postbiotic ingredients fermented, and so they are absolutely sustainable.

This platform has been developed years ago actually by some scientists that were looking for a specific active.

Compound in the bark of a tree to develop a medicine to treat breast cancer and they isolated endophytes from a tree and believe it or not, they took them to the lab and this endophytes, which can be microorganisms or even yeast, they started producing the active compound for this medicinal product.

And we decided that this would be a good platform to use also for the production and development of cosmetic ingredients.

And how does Pure Bloom contribute to sustainability?

The key point is that you have a lab grown ingredients, so you are not using any any big areas to grow the plants.

You're not using fertilizers.

You're not using pesticides, and you're also you need a lot less water for the production, so it's really highly sustainable.

And who is the target audience of pure bloom specifically?

Yes, pure bloom is the second active ingredient that is based on the triploion technology, and the target group would be women that suffer from adult acne.

So typically I would say 30+.

When we launched this ingredient, I was a bit skeptical myself about the question, is this a niche or not?

But whoever I've talked about so far confirmed that they know somebody who suffers from adult acne, so the problem seems to be a lot bigger than people believe.

And so with that being said, can you walk me through how Pure Bloom supports women's skin in this time?

Yes, actually it is too many triples now, but it's a triple efficacy really in this ingredient.

And the first one is we are reducing the sebum production, which is one of the key problems for Acmel.

So if you have clogged pores and too much sebum production, then you will eventually result in a clogged pore.

And then inflammation.

So the first point is reduce sebum production, and that is what Pure bloom is doing.

Secondly, we have an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect with this ingredient, which is due to the lipop peptides that this product is standardized in.

And thirdly, and that's key because we are talking about adult acne, we also wanted to treat the first signs of aging.

So I was, I was reading in a blog the other day that there was a lady going to a dermatologist and she was complaining about her acne, and the dermatologist said, congratulations, you are suffering from aged acne.

In German we say altas acne.

So she was a little upset because she already had the acne, but now she has in writing that she is old.

So she didn't like that very much.

So this active ingredient is really dedicated to the people who show the first signs of aging and still suffer from adult acne.

And do you have anything else to add that we haven't covered today?

Yes, there are some technical details maybe that you are interested in.

It is a vegan active ingredient that is cosmos compliant and 100% natural origin.

It is China compliant and can be formulated very, very easily in any type of skincare routine.

Perfect.

And thank you for joining Personal Care Insights.
