19 Mar 2026 | Seppic

Lilian Han, director Asia Pacific at Seppic tells us on the show floor of PCHi 2026 (Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients) in Hangzhou, China, that the company's new formulation kits are designed to merge visual appeal with regional sensory demands. By leveraging suspension technology, the company helps brands create visually appealing skin care products that tap into the Asian consumer's desire for  cosmetics that bring a "happy" feeling. With a dedicated local technical team supporting the region, Seppic is tailoring textures specifically for hot weather conditions. Han predicts that the Chinese beauty market will continue to grow over the next few years, fueled by social media.

This is Sabina Waldeck for Personal Care Insights at PCHI 2026, joined by Lillian Han, director of Asia Pacific for SEPIC.

Welcome.

Nice to meet you.

So can you tell us about the formulation kits you're presenting at PCI and what makes them tailored to current beauty trends in Asia?

Sure, so for this that we presented two sets of the formulations.

One of the formulations of which we call it the art of suspension, and another one is the designing of the trend.

So this is the trend for the suspension.

So basically you can see that we use.

Our unique products which is abbemaxine that it's a good properties in the in the suspension so they can have a suspension of the oil and suspension of the nanoparticles so which can make the formulation which is quite fluid but still very nice and suspended and which answer the needs of the Asian needs that's which is visually, that's very emotionally that which is very beautiful.

Besides that, we also have, the set of the formulation which is really answering that the Asian hot trends such as the mood and.

Clay mask, so which is quite different from the different from the the habits that's from the Europe, but it is very very hot that in Asia, especially also for this milky that milky emotion that it is quite fluid and it is pur that turner and an emotion.

Which this trend comes from Korea and now that's start to be very popular, that's in Asia and also in the Western world.

So these are the sets that were presented during this PCHI.

And has a strong presence in China and Asia.

How does the company support both local and international customers in the region?

Sir, for both types of customers that's where we have the local technical team that will support both types of the customers by answering that the technical questions but also providing that the customer technical training.

We have our CDSC which record customer technical service center that's located in Shanghai and we regular.

Organizers the technical training that's for our customers there and so basically that's differently that's for the local customers we will inspire them with more international view that the trends that outside of China, outside of Asia, and you know also you have some local customers now that they started trying to export business.

And we also support them that with a regulatory support and that to the local markets that the destination that they want to export and for the internationals that we also inspire them with more local trends, more local concepts in order to to let them to be more closer to the Asian habits.

And how does SEPIC approach the development of formulations that specifically address the unique needs of the Chinese market?

So as what I mentioned, we have the CTC local very experienced formulation team that's in China and that they closely work together with the local sales team and the customers to design the formulation which answers the local trends and local needs.

And looking ahead, where do you see the Chinese beauty market evolving in the next few years, and how is SEPI preparing for these changes?

China is a very dynamic market, and it will continue to be very dynamic, so it will comes from different aspects.

For sure that efficacy is one of the key elements that the consumers seek.

But besides that, we also see that the customers are looking.

The products that can bring them also the sensory experience, a real link with the emotions, and this means that they are looking for something which can bring them the different experience and the experience which is makes them happy.

So that's also the reason that we presented this kit that's here and.

And this market will continue to evolve very quickly with the social media.

So this also means that it will be more demanding, more and more demanding in the novel and diverse concepts and textures as.

As for SEPI, we are diving innovation, , with Pfizer with the local, onsite trains together with the technology that we must.

Basically it's to say that we are using the international technology to design our products and the solutions in order to answer the local needs and the local concepts.

For example, last year we launched a new product which is addressing the sensitive skin with soothing.

Effect, we use the Asian concept we source that the raw material is sourcing from China while that we use our technology to make it that more efficient, more efficient for the sensitive skin.

And this product is Ganokca, which we present also during the PCHI and finally, this product is not only very successful, welcomed by the Asian customers, but also by the Western customers.

So we are going to continue to do this way, that for the to answer the future developments.

Perfect, and thank you for joining Presto Car Insights.

Thank you very much.
