Indian beauty brand Astrea Beauty has announced it is debuting in the US. The brand blends modern clean beauty principles with ancient Siddha medicine, one of the world’s oldest healing traditions originating in South India.
Astrea Beauty offers 100% natural, vegan formulations that combine herbal remedies, plant-based actives, and natural minerals. It positions itself at the intersection of cultural heritage, sustainability, and holistic skin care.
Siddha healing focuses on restoring balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Imbalances are diagnosed through methods such as pulse reading and are treated with tailored formulas derived from herbs, minerals, and metals.
“By bringing together the wisdom of Siddha medicine with modern formulation science, we wanted to create products that feel deeply rooted in tradition while delivering results that resonate with today’s consumer,” says founder Sharon Natarajan.

Natural skin care trio
Astrea Beauty’s launch lineup centers on three US$48 skin care products. The Forever Young Anti-Aging Night Cream uses natural antioxidants to hydrate and repair skin during sleep, promising a glowing and rejuvenated complexion.
The Morning Mist Day Moisturizer is said to brighten and even skin tone by using botanicals such as lavender and cucumber. The formula is touted to deliver a spa-like, refreshing experience suitable for all skin types.
Astrea Beauty’s launch lineup combines herbal remedies, plant-based actives, and natural minerals.Meanwhile, the Sparkling Eyes Under Eye Cream targets the delicate skin of the under-eye area using natural ingredients such as aloe vera, wheat germ, and carrot seed. According to the brand, the blend offers a safe and effective eye solution without the risk of irritation.
Indian beauty expands
Astrea Beauty’s entry into the US comes as Indian cosmetics gain increased international attention. Multiple global beauty companies are increasing their presence in India through partnerships, investments, and acquisitions.
Notably, French cosmetics group L’Oréal is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire a majority stake in Indian beauty start-up Innovist for around US$428.42 million.
Unilever also recently led a US$4.1 million Series A funding round for Clayco, a Mumbai-based skin care start-up.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Esteé Lauder Companies announced that it will acquire full ownership of Forest Essentials to expand luxury Ayurvedic beauty globally.
“Ayurveda is not folklore — it is a sophisticated system of science, ritual, and holistic well-being. By combining our heritage with the operational strength of ELC, we have the opportunity to bring this wisdom to a global audience,” said Forest Essentials’ founder and managing director, Mira Kulkarni.
