Azelis inaugurates personal care lab in Egypt to boost formulation and stability research
22 Jul 2021 --- Specialty chemicals and food ingredients provider Azelis is opening a new personal care application laboratory in Cairo, Egypt, to offer new formulations and stability studies to its customers in the region.
“With this new personal care lab, we offer a complete service to our customers: from new formulations to the pilot stage, through stability studies,” notes Christophe Sacy, managing director for Azelis MEA.
“We also reinforce our service to our principles to develop formulations answering local market needs. With the support from our lab team, we are able to offer optimized and tailored solutions to our customers’ current and future challenges.”
Formulation support
Azelis supplies specialty chemicals for the personal care sector globally. With seven personal care labs in EMEA alone, Azelis’ focus and dedication lie in being an innovative partner to all customers and principals, says the company.
The lab team has already begun formulating and supporting customers in Egypt and the Middle East and Africa region.
“Since the recent opening of the lab, we have been creating and optimizing formulations for hair care, skin care and sun care products, using actives and additives from Azelis’ extensive product portfolio,” details Marian Hanna, Azelis personal care formulation specialist in Egypt.
“As part of Azelis’ sustainability strategy, we are focusing on the development of novel natural solutions for our customers.”
Building partnerships
The company is having a “very active” year across different segments, as it recently announced it would acquire Quimdis in a bid to diversify its presence in France and EMEA.
According to the companies, the move strengthens Azelis’ offering to fast-growing and attractive markets while also enhancing the position of Azelis France in the life sciences sector.
Moreover, Azelis and CP Kelco extended their distribution relationship in the Netherlands, with Azelis also agreeing to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Coseal, a specialist distribution business in South Korea.
